Mitski builds herself a tower in AG Rojas's return to music videos with My Love Mine All Mine, shot by Evan Prosofsky.Firstly we see the artist in an empty&nbsp;industrial space, stacking chairs&nbsp;higher and higher, into an improbably tall tower. Eventually, she places an egg under the bottom chair, and proceeds to climb this precarious structure.The track is the first single from Mitski's new album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We -&nbsp;comprised of songs written in bursts over the years since&nbsp;Mitski openly contemplated retirement from the music industry, with bravely vulnerable lyrics expressing the universal feelings of aching for and moving toward love.On first viewing the video feels more in the orbit of the singer-songwriter's canon of intriguing, often theatrically intense music videos than the visually poetic work that Rojas is known for. But within this interior setting, the director delivers on his reputation&nbsp;for creating memorable imagery with a strongly symbolic idea that dovetails beautifully with Mitski's sensitive delivery.[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

After his biggest movie hit yet with Baby Driver - the film that was inspired by his late 90s video for Mint Royale - Edgar Wright makes a surprise return to music videos for Beck. And it also could be about to be part of something big.The video for Colors (the title track from Beck&#39;s latest&nbsp;album)&nbsp;is a suitably dazzling display of colour and choreography, with Beck and co-star Alison Brie as the monochrome core within an army of &#39;aliens&#39; performing a&nbsp;Busby Berkeley-like dance routine - choreographed by Ryan Heffington, who also created the brilliant choreography at the start of Baby.&nbsp;This is all presented in alternate keys of blue and yellow - the primary hues on the wonderful&nbsp;Colors album cover, by British designers Jimmy Turrell and Steve Stacey.It&#39;s also <a href="http://apple.co/ColorsMusicVideo" target="_blank">exclusive to Apple Music</a>. Not the first of its kind, for sure, but this new Beck video is an important flagbearer in the&nbsp;new drive by Apple to increase the take-up on its music service, via exclusive music videos and a generally much improved music video service. Two others, for A Tribe Called Quest and Kylie Minogue, are part of this initial rollout of exclusives for&nbsp;this service touted as having<a href="http://variety.com/2018/biz/news/apple-music-adds-thousands-of-videos-including-new-ones-from-a-tribe-called-quest-beck-kylie-minogue-watch-1202738947/" target="_blank">&nbsp;recently added &#39;thousands of videos&#39;</a>. It&#39;s what Apple is describing as &quot;the best music video-watching experience available anywhere&quot; and &quot;ad-free&quot;.Not, of course,&nbsp;free-to-view. Nicolas Randall &amp; Marc-Edouard Leon deliver a night-crawling, sleazy and heartbreakingly bleak video for Midnight to Monaco.&nbsp;Tackling the subject of male prostitution in 80s LA was never going to be pretty, and this video makes every scenario seem sinister and cold. Nobody genuinely smiles, there&#39;s no passion in anything seen here and the neon lights of cheap motels illuminate a world cast under Hollywood&#39;s shadow with a sickly glow - beautifully shot, it must be said, by DoP Starr Whitesides.&nbsp;It&#39;s not an easy watch, but it&#39;s certainly a rewarding one - with Midnight To Monaco&#39;s Ricky Ducati convincing&nbsp;in the lead role as the wannabe actor turned hustler.&nbsp;The bookending of the video&nbsp;with a VHS scene adds a sinister, voyeuristic element to a story where the young and the pretty try and thrive and quickly find themselves becoming obsolete.&nbsp;

AG Rojas&#39;s ambitious and arguably controversial video for Run The Jewels&#39; Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck), featuring Zack de la Rocha from Rage Against The Machine, addresses the controversy over American police brutality towards the African American community by imagining it as a one-on-one conflict&nbsp;between two individuals - the white cop and the black citizen.It&#39;s beautifully crafted, with amazing cinematography by&nbsp;Michael Ragen.&nbsp;It&#39;s also a surprisingly&nbsp;ambiguous exercise, in which the personalities of the actors (Shea Whigham&nbsp;and&nbsp;Keith Stanfield)&nbsp;and the extreme&nbsp;physical demands of their roles - has an inevitable impact on what we&#39;re seeing. It&#39;s not quite a case of mutual hatred, and in fact, there is no &#39;bad guy&#39; here. It may seem to run&nbsp;counter to the fierce polemic for which RTJ&#39;s Killer Mike and El-P (to say nothing of De la Rocha) have become renowned.&nbsp;But they say it gels with their views that&nbsp;it&#39;s the whole system, rather than rogue individuals, that is the problem.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;This video represents the futile and exhausting existence of a purgatory-like law enforcement system,&quot; says Killer Mike&nbsp;&quot;There is no neat solution at the end because there is no neat solution in the real world. &nbsp;However, there is an opportunity for dialogue and to change the way communities are policed in this country. &nbsp;Salutes to AG Rojas for his unique take on the subject matter and to Shea and Keith for giving us their all and bringing it to life.&quot;[imgtoken data:1]
