The Black Keys attempt&nbsp;to reconnect to their blue-collar roots, in Bryan Schlam's uninhibited promo for Wild Child.&nbsp;In a riotous back-to-school concept, we see Patrick and Danny of the BKs&nbsp;take on a janitor and chef role at a high school&nbsp;full of drugs, fighting&nbsp;and various other disorderly behaviour.&nbsp;With a cast of teachers who are just as bad than the students - if not worse -&nbsp;all hell breaks loose when they take on their new roles. But will the Keys succeed to helps these kids, and these adults, become upstanding citizens?&nbsp;Er, no. But then, they can always go back to being rich rock stars...&nbsp;Playful and bawdy, Schlam packs out each scene with tonnes of laughs and gross-out humour, and the performances are spot-on all round. He's a master at this sort of thing.

When the gig economy escalates to working with The Grim Reaper, a friendship forms that challenges the commodification of death, in Willem Holzer's entertaining&nbsp;promo for John Robert.&nbsp;Move It To The Side opens with the spooky soul collector himself - played by&nbsp;John E. Bongos - signing in to an app called Dead Drops, ready for another shift. However, he has to make a unscheduled stop, when he knocks down a pedestrian and finds himself with an 'unauthorized soul' - that's&nbsp;John Robert, who then joins The Reaper&nbsp;on his shift throughout the rest of the video.&nbsp;Then we have a classic buddy comedy on our hands, with plenty of sight gags - before things turn rather more serious and poignant in the final act. Holzer excels in the storytelling in his mini-movie - and marshalling a pair of&nbsp;excellent performances from the two&nbsp;Johns, Bongos and&nbsp;Robert.If it was Hollywood, they would be lining up a sequel...

Only thing is, black men are always getting arrested...Describing his video as 'Get Out meets Groundhog Day', Tomson Tee has created a brilliantly&nbsp;chilling satire on race relations in the USA, for Nobody I Can Trust.Kemba plays an initially happy-go-lucky worker in an aggressively retro-Americana suburb. We witness a&nbsp;loop of the same three scenes that make up his day-to-day routine. And each day it starts with a&nbsp;different African-American person getting arrested, on Kemba's walk to work.&nbsp;And as more and more black men get locked away by increasingly aggressive cops, Kemba begins to notice the town’s attitude toward him shifting eerily, the mood in the diner changing. Things start to get ugly.Tomson Tee's crucial eye for detail serves the narrative so well, using a style employed by&nbsp;B movies and TV shows from the 50s and 60s, and building a surreal&nbsp;nightmare that feels increasingly plausible.Entirely plausible in fact, as the truth about the rise of racism in Trump's America is repeatedly borne out by events.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

He charts the classic stages of a relationship, from beginning to end, through a&nbsp;cast of characters who all share a common distinguishing&nbsp;feature.Dirty Projectors&#39; song Up In Hudson is a personal story. Rabinovitch and his associate director&nbsp;Isaiah Saxon have opened it out, and added the magic and fantasy, and brilliant colour palette, of which their creative collective are rightly renowned. Recognisable modern settings become the domain where the characters (the descendants of characters from The Hobbit?)&nbsp;find and enjoy, stumble and lose love, and then find themselves.Every shot is imbued with the familiar EP pink and blue-hued superreal look, and each stage brings new wonders - none less than the brilliant final sequence, at a busy intersection in Manhattan.

Following their long-awaited return with Metronomy&#39;s The Upsetter last month, the comeback of Encyclopedia Pictura gathers momentum with their new video for Panda Bear&#39;s mesmerising Boys Latin, and this time it&#39;s the collective&#39;s&nbsp;Isaiah Saxon and Sean Hellfritsch turn to approach EP&#39;s&nbsp;favourite themes.The inspiration, as with much of their work, is&nbsp;the wonder of nature, and then turning it into something mind-bendingly fantastical. But Isaiah and Sean have taken an entirely&nbsp;fresh approach to this project:&nbsp;it&#39;s their&nbsp;first fully-animated video.This is a&nbsp;seashore adventure that has its characters go through sudden, radical and scary physical changes&nbsp;when they come in contact with mysterious aqueous fauna. More than six years since they created their epic 3D video for Bjork&#39;s Wanderlust - the winner of Video of the Year at the first UK Music Video Awards in 2008 - to be followed by a long haitus from filmmaking, Encyclopedia Pictura are back.&nbsp;The directing collective, known for the&nbsp;extraordinary&nbsp;nature-based surrealism in videos for&nbsp;Grizzly Bear, Seventeen Evergreen and others, have returned to make the video for Metronomy&#39;s The Upsetter, with Daren Rabinovitch at the helm. Daren has also created the astonishing costumes in the video (their making is documented in the BTS film linked below), that sees the creation of one character, a sort of human sloth, to the transformation of the other, as a forest woman starts to incorporate the&nbsp;forest in her body.Essentially this is a&nbsp;love story,&nbsp;about the woman (possibly from&nbsp;civilisation who has been lost in the forest for years and grown a beard)&nbsp;who in her solitude creates a companion&nbsp;of grass and earth on the ground. Then, as her loneliness overcomes her, she brings the grass creature to life.The level of vision and ambition is there, as before, and the physical development of the characters is extraordinary. And Daren&nbsp;Rabinovitch&#39;s direction adds&nbsp;a level of warmth&nbsp;and poignancy to EP&#39;s trademark visionary style and&nbsp;themes. Ben Dickinson gathers together&nbsp;Yoko Ono, Beastie Boys Mike D and Ad-Rock and Yoko's New York artist friends for the promo to Bad Dancer - a track from Plastic Ono Band's new album Take Me To The Land Of Hell.&nbsp;Conceptually based on the painting Yoko creates at the beginning of the promo, the video, which features some pretty bad dancing, was also inspired by Ono's past works including her 1966 piece Ceiling Painting.
