Director trio Bleu Desert create an unsettling and controversial promo for French rap group&nbsp;S-Crew.&nbsp;The immersive concept follows a police car during a night-time patrol in Paris, cleverly shot&nbsp;using only interior and exterior car mounts, depicts the BAC (Anti-Criminality Brigade of the National Police) antagonising and abusing various people on the street - and planting evidence on their targets.[imgtoken data:1]The latter part of the clip sees the payback - the vehicle is&nbsp;vehicle commandeered by the S-Crew themselves, who take it on their own tour of the neighbourhood&nbsp;- and building to a fiery climax.&nbsp;Shot on 35mm to give the video a raw, cinematic aesthetic, this stirring and thought-provoking video is a must-watch introduction to an exciting new directing collective.&nbsp;

Directing duo Pantera - that's Pato Martinez and Francisco Canton&nbsp;- have directed a series of wonderfully zany&nbsp;mini-films to tease French musician Jacques' new album Ordinary Victories.&nbsp;The nine-minute epic introduces us to the artist - and his distinctive hairstyle - as&nbsp;his head opens up to reveal a smorsgabord of&nbsp;weird and wonderful influences.Pantera and Jacques have released the project in chapter form, which serve up individual moments from the album within a surreal drama, and that also serves the wonderfully absurdist quality of their collaboration. Romain Chassaing's long-awaited return to music videos has come for the French-Moroccan rapper Kekra - and in Chassaing's trademark style this is a fast-moving,&nbsp;action-packed tale, with a sense of humour as dark as it's dystopian setting.&nbsp;Kekra always appears with his face obscured, and in the video for Putain De Salaire&nbsp;he becomes a post-apocalyptic superhero, transformed by the radioactive waste that collects in murky corners of a&nbsp;brutal city run on slave labour. The plot of the video centres around the accidental effect of the toxic substance upon him and his newly found powers that&nbsp;spark a rebellion among the downtrodden underclass.&nbsp;Chassaing was inspired by his love of graphic novels and working closely with DoP Rik Zang, he has created a richly atmospheric dystopia, mixing references&nbsp;from Blade Runner to Alan Moore's graphic novels, with a nod to Wong Kar-wai.The video was shot in Thailand over&nbsp;two gruelling 18-hour days - thanks to some superhuman efforts from crew and service company Eastness. The extensive post production - involving&nbsp;CGI characters, digital effects and matte painting to add an epic scale - by FIRM in Paris was also turned around in time to have the video finished within a four-week schedule from treatment to delivery.It is Romain Chassaing's first video since his two for Dizzee Rascal, Bop And Keep It Dippin'&nbsp;and <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/10/19/dizzee-rascal-x-skepta-money-right-romain-chassaing/55603" target="_blank">Money Right</a>. He's been focussing more on building his profile in commercials since then. It is very good to have him back.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

You came to a fork in the road and had to make a choice of which path to take - one leads to glory, the other certain death (or at the very least you end up back on the previous page). Well, this video is essentially the interactive music video equivalent.Following a man from his last days in college, you navigate through adulthood via a series of moral dilemmas. Will you end up ruling the world, or waste your life playing video games?It is an incredibly ambitious project, beautifully executed by Chassaing and Solab in their latest collaboration with Naive New Beaters - and the payoff is well worth the effort. The creative range of short vignettes and the various combinations of unlockables will keep you hooked for ages.

Naive New Beaters 'Words Hurt' by Romain Chassaing

The zany, rather scruffy goofiness of Naive New Beaters has been faithfully recorded in a bunch of great videos down the years - and here&#39;s another one that&#39;s up with their best. Romain Chassaing has delivered a brilliant, electric-paced promo for Run Away which follows the band&#39;s unlikely progress from normal guys to inept yet wildly&nbsp;successful criminals.NNB&nbsp;frontman David Boring plays a frustrated working stiff and&nbsp;family man who decides to dabble in small-time robbery with his pals. Which sets off a frantic, and completely off-the-wall&nbsp;trail of events, involving hold-ups, bundles of cash, animal masks,&nbsp;sex, betrayal and a knife-twisting denouement. &nbsp;Chassaing and the band went over to Argentina to shoot the video and make the production budget go further, and it looks great. But as Romain explains here,&nbsp;they found that running around with guns in Buenos Aires, even fake ones on a video shoot, can be a dangerous business.[imgtoken data:1]

NAIVE NEW BEATERS - RUN AWAY

Romain Chassaing departs from his usual style of pastel colours and post-production trickery to deliver an altogether more cinematic experience for Vitalic&rsquo;s Fade Away &ndash; a blackly comic procession of hit-man killings in order to take hold of a briefcase and its mysterious contents, and a true cycle of violence&hellip;Romain&rsquo;s choice of locations is perfect from the outset as we follow a chain of hired killers taking each other out blow by blow &ndash; each differently from the last and each paying homage to a different seminal crime film. Beginning in a rusting ship, we travel from horse-racing to hotel rooms, and out to the open countryside, with fantastic work from DoP Fabien Benzaquen.As well as the serial violence, Romain manages to incorporate some great tongue-in-cheek moments. One hit-man even aims up a drain-pipe to take his opponent unawares whilst shaving. All good, clean fun.&ldquo;The idea was to play with hit-men and gangster movies,&rdquo; says Romain. &ldquo;Killers settling scores, like in classic movies like The Godfather, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, that we watch over and over again with the same pleasure.&ldquo;Shooting this music video was like a game. We had a lot of fun reproducing, modestly, some famous movies scenes and creating new ones.&rdquo;
