Thomas James directs a dark and twisted tale of a serial killer cab driver, in his promo for Lucy Blue’s Taxi Driver.&nbsp;Oozing a sense of nostalgia in the styling and look across the anachronistic set pieces - with definite&nbsp;nods to Scorsese's masterpiece of the same name -&nbsp;the visual doesn't cross the line into true horror, yet manages to create an uncomfortable, overarching sense of dread in every frame.&nbsp;Thomas James brings his customary verve&nbsp;to this story of a disturbed young woman - and Lucy Blue is brilliant in her&nbsp;role as a stalker, and the blurred boundary between infatuation and insanity is masterfully conceptualised.

French metal gods Gojira spend a night at&nbsp;the museum with mind-bending results, in Charles De Meyer's promo for Born For One Thing.&nbsp;The video follows a security guard who chases a shapeshifter through the winding corridors of the sprawling museum, after the character takes a weird little pill.&nbsp;The hallucinatory aesthetic bleeds into the cinematography, as DoP&nbsp;Maximiliaan Dierickx focuses on rotating camera moves and abstract transitions, building an abstract maze with no way out.&nbsp;It's an explosive return for the group, who release their first album in five years in April.&nbsp;

And their latest collaboration, for&nbsp;Vipers Follow You, is as distinctive as their previous work.It's a&nbsp;surreal and atmospheric road-trip, by a father and his young, Rubik cube-playing son, who discover the countryside around them acquiring a strange and ominous nature. With expert pacing De Meyer creates a creeping sense of disconnect with reality, with surreal creations revealing themselves across the Flemish countryside.&nbsp;

Identical twins choose similar paths towards oblivion, in this Shakespearean family drama for British DJ-producer duo&nbsp;Camelphat.After saying goodbye to one another at a funeral, the brothers look for adoration in different places: one becomes a rockstar, the other becomes the leader of a cult. Through their search for control, they both spiral into self-destruction. They meet twice again. The first time, at the top of their game, they argue. But the second time, they meet under much graver&nbsp;circumstances.&nbsp;Charley Palmer Roe - who you may recognise as the spooky supporting character in absolutely everything - gives an alarming performance as both twins. The similarities between their separate lives are impressively realised with analogous compositions and match-cutting. The visual conceit drives the narrative, and there is exceptional work here by DoP Dustin Lane - shooting monochrome, as he did to award-winning effect for&nbsp;Alt-J’s Mexican epic <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/04/18/alt-j-3ww-young-replicant/47388">3WW</a>&nbsp;- and the director's regular editing collaborator Sam Bould.&nbsp;The Sacred Egg are still fairly fresh from their roles as second unit directors for Bohemian Rhapsody, and you can draw certain parallels between the Mercury biopic and this more insidious story. The duo are savvy enough to show us only a glimpse of this world before the video ends, leaving you curious. Who was the father of these men? Why were they drawn to take these paths and do the things they did?

A motion-capture performer strays too far from the axis of reality, in this visceral mind-bender for Ed Sheehan by Ryan Staake.Dancer Courtney Scarr treats us to a show-stopping routine in a MoCap studio, and on screen, her movements carry through to a shimmering, shifting CG universe. Travelling between these fantasies and the reality of the studio, Scarr assumes different identities -&nbsp;including 3D avatars of Ed Sheeran and Chance the Rapper. But when it’s time for her to hang up her bodysuit and call it a day, she finds it hard to leave this oscillating fantasy behind…The video is a remarkable achievement for Moving Picture Company, who were tasked with turning round the entire project in just three and a half weeks. MPC is obviously a global leader in VFX, but this required all kinds of&nbsp;ingenious improvisation to make it happen. For example, when Sheeran was not available for a photogrammetry, Dominic Alderson created&nbsp;his 3D avatar from his Madame Tussauds waxwork. More of this iintricate process is revealed in a <a href="https://vimeo.com/344754319">Behind the Scenes</a> video.&nbsp;While this is a masterclass in visual effects, a mention should go&nbsp;to Scarr and her choreographer&nbsp;Erin Murray. The confident swagger of their dance routine anchors this video in&nbsp;reality, and holds the audience's hand through the rapid&nbsp;shifts and glitches&nbsp;of this digital fantasia.[imgtoken data:1]

J.A.C.K have made a very enigmatic video for MØ&#39;s&nbsp;When I Was Young. In so doing, the French directing duo have captured&nbsp;the Danish popster&#39;s&nbsp;distinctive charisma in a way not previously achieved in her videos.In a deserted village, a solitary MØ is joined by two other versions of herself, one in white the other in black&nbsp;- the latter accompanied by a group of skeleton-clad ghouls. With a combination of artful choreography and visual effects, the original&nbsp;MØ allies with one of her duplicates to battle the other, and her ghouls.&nbsp;MØ has revealed that the inspiration for the video came from Edvard Munch, the Norwegian artist best known for The Scream.&nbsp;&ldquo;I&rsquo;m so happy to present this video because it feels very true to the song and to who I am,&rdquo; she says. &quot;It was inspired by a painting called The Dance Of Life [by Munch]...&nbsp;It&rsquo;s an illustration of three women &ndash; one in white, one in red and one in black &ndash; and tells a story about three stages of human life: youth, maturity, and old age.&quot;I was always drawn to this image as a kid due to its simple symbolism and emotion and have been dying to do a video that could reflect on it. Since When I Was Young is all about nostalgia and reflecting on life &ndash;especially the past, but also the now and the future &ndash; it just seemed like the perfect time to do it. Anton Tammi goes the full peyote with a video for Somewhere Else&nbsp;that gives full rein to the director&#39;s visionary and hallucinatory&nbsp;gifts. It&#39;s probably the most psychedelic, spaced-out Western since Dennis Hopper made The Last Movie.&nbsp;Shot in Mexico, Tammi taps a mystic vision of comradely&nbsp;cowboys (and cowgirls; all African-American) under blood-orange skies, with symbols of the old West, including mustangs and scorpions, shape-shfiting into other objects.It climaxes at the invisible saloon, and magically&nbsp;firing up the jukebox for a spot of dancing. And frankly, line dancing has never been so cool.
