Alex Courtès&#39; new Cassius video is all about intriguing, ingenious, and ironic visual juxtapositions: stock shots from the&nbsp;commercial mainstream are spliced &ndash; horizontally and vertically - with deeply contrasting, graphically connected images to create a constant flow of striking combinations.&nbsp;It all starts with the Earth becoming the bottom half of a pile of tagliatelli. But much of what follows includes movement that makes the combinations even more effective.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2][imgtoken data:3]What a research job that must have been. This was all created with stock footage, edited by Zoé Sassier, graded by Vincent Heine and post work at Division&#39;s regular partner&nbsp;Home Digital Pictures to their usual impeccable standards.And of course, great to see Alex Courtès, a true master of the medium, making a music video&nbsp;again. &nbsp;

In Fleur and Manu&#39;s ambitious, layered, cameo-littered epic for&nbsp;A$AP Rocky&#39;s Everyday, we follow the irrepressible Rocky&#39;s career in reverse - from a point where all that lavish living has definitely caught up with him.Bloated, used-up, and face-down in a pool, Everyday (which samples Rod Stewart&#39;s vocal from In A Broken Dream)&nbsp;tracks an old rapper&#39;s past through flashbacks which see him popping prescription pills and going under the knife to retain his fading looks, becoming unrecognisable. Rod (who has looked after himself)&nbsp;makes a brief appearance too, and Mark Ronson, as this whirlwind of scenes of partying, drugs and girls reveals present-day Rocky in all his current gorgeousness.There&#39;s a&nbsp;&#39;money can&#39;t buy&nbsp;happiness&#39;&nbsp;message in there somewhere, but Rocky still comes out as more of a carpe diem&nbsp;type of guy...&nbsp;

A$AP Rocky 'Everyday' by Fleur and Manu

It&#39;s a brave thing to give the brands and the bling&nbsp;a bit of a&nbsp;slapping in this day and age, but Helmi gives it a go in his video for&nbsp;Bonnie Banana feat. Waltaa&#39;s Champs Elysees. It&#39;s a satire on the materialism that pervades modern youth culture - and a brilliant visual bombardment to boot.&nbsp;The aesthetic is street culture, with a heavy nod to the 90s. But most importantly Champs Elysees - both song and video - is all about the importance of appearances,&nbsp;and how it quickly turns into materialism and vanity. And drugs.&nbsp;Interestingly, Helmi and&nbsp;Bonnie and Waltaa developed the song and the visuals at the same time - a very unusual process, but highly effective. Chronicling runaway consumption with hard video FX works a treat. And appropriately the song that says &#39;everything&#39;s for sale&#39; is available to download for free, on weirdata.net.&nbsp;
