Having completed his debut feature, the fantasy-thriller&nbsp;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzwCp_ijRtQ" target="_blank">UNDERGODS</a>, released later this month,&nbsp;Chino Moya returns to music videos with this brilliantly arresting video for East London-based post-punk band Deep Tan.The video for the Camelot, a darkly angular, high-speed homage to a big night on the tiles, sees the band struggling in a confined space accompanied by random objects, which appear possessed by invisible forces.Created as a&nbsp;homemade lockdown video, around the idea of supernatural forces possessing the band, Moya's skill ensures this transcends its lo-fi roots.&nbsp;With its well considered&nbsp;set-ups, Irving Penn-meets-punk aesthetic and disruptively kinetic edit, it's a two minute thrill ride and a superb showcase for the threepiece outfit.And as Moya reflects, the video does in a small way, reflect the conditions in which it was made. “In hindsight, we will look back and realise that the idea of invisible forces possessing and controlling us while we were confined in some small space was not that far from our reality during the period when we shot the video,” he says.[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2][imgtoken data:3]

For Eyes Shut,&nbsp;Chino Moya directs Years &amp; Years&rsquo; leading man Olly Alexander walking obliviously through a world that is coming to an end. &ldquo;There is something very hypnotizing about him and that is why I decided to do everything in one-take,&rdquo; Chino Moya explained.&nbsp;&ldquo;I wanted to give this intimate song a sense of scale.&rdquo;The visual treatment retains trademarks of Chino&rsquo;s earlier work including surrealist and futuristic elements, and of course, a cinematic and detailed approach to set design and styling. Filmed on a housing estate in the outskirts of Sofia, Bulgaria,&nbsp;the crumbling Eastern European architecture became the&nbsp;perfect setting to stage the idea of an epic&nbsp;imploding&nbsp;civilisation.

Chino Moya&nbsp;channels various influences - from PT Anderson&#39;s The Master to (arguably) The Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers &ndash; in his very stylish&nbsp;and deeply enigmatic video for Hurts&#39; Some Kind Of Heaven.&nbsp;Set in a beautifully recreated 1950s America - and actually shot in Spain &ndash;&nbsp;Hurts frontman Theo Hutchcraft is welcomed into a party&nbsp;of suspiciously friendly&nbsp;individuals who could be part of a cult - emphasised by intercut shots of Hutchcraft running away from a chasing car.But even that is not all it seems, as Moya toys with the viewers expectations&nbsp;- and then throws in a final curveball for good measure.&nbsp;

i.hunter is the new project of songwriter Guy Chambers and singer/actress Sophie Hunter, and this a dark and daring promo for the brooding Epitaph, directed by Chino Moya - with a fair amount of unsettling, NSFW imagery. 
Sophie fully participates in a series of bold, well-crafted tableaux, often involving the juxtaposition of nudity and dead things. It came out of a fluid and improvisational shooting process, with casting action and settings decided on set - and it looks great, thanks to Nick Wood's photography and Aubrey Woodiwiss's grade.

Hotly tipped Tennessee boys Mona's anthemic Listen To Your Love - the single heralding the release of their debut album in May - is given a retro treatment in the Chino Moya-directed video.
Mona are Americans in 1960s Paris, on an appropriately breathless tour of the city: performing in cellar clubs, talking to uptight French journos, hanging out with a large number of gorgeous filles - and even taking in a strip show - all framed in smoky New Wave black and white.

Chino Moya's previous video was a marvelous and atmospheric clip for Spanish band <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2009/06/18/supersubmarinas-supersubmarina-by-chino-moya/" target="_blank">Supersubmarina</a>, shot in Bulgaria and featuring a cast of very characterful faces. 
His new one, for Spanish singer-songwriter L.A., is all set in the confines of one space but has a similar Delicatessen-style quality of period drabness enriched with eye-popping characters: a warring couple - her huge, him small and bald - with L.A. stuck in the middle, observing their attempts to kill each other.

Intriguing, haunted characters (including this little girl, who discovers she has tele-kinesis) inhabit three separate, beautifully-shot strange tales. The impact is powerfully cinematic. Top stuff.Chino Moya on making the video for Supersubmarina&#39;s Supersubmarina &quot;I live in London, but still work in Spain where I come from. Sony BMG Spain contacted me through a production company in Madrid. They wanted a video for a new band without the band featured. I realised this could be a good opportunity to do something personal and sent a proposal.&quot;I thought of doing something narrative. I tried to think of a context for the action and ended up imagining some anonymous Eastern European city in the late 1970s-early 1980s. Paranormal events were taking place, but the inhabitants seemed to not be surprised by them. Something related to the apocalyptic nuclear fear of the cold war and the pseudo sciences that were associated with them (see Uri Geller, UFO sightings...).&quot;I decided on the three stories: a girl that discovers that she has telekinetic powers, a lonely woman that finds a half dead little man in a box and a guy that participates in a dancing contest that is at the same time a political trial. The label said yes to my treatment and we began looking for a country that would have the right type of industrial exteriors and old communist interiors.&quot;After looking at Romania and Ukraine, we decided to go to Bulgaria where a production company called MVM were willing to get involved. Due to the limited budget I couldn&#39;t bring anyone from abroad except the DoP, so I went to Sofia ten days prior to the shoot and with a Bulgarian crew, that happened to be fantastic, we put together all the elements.&quot;The producer Mario Forniés and the DoP Sergio Delgado flew from Spain and we did a two-day Red camera shoot. I&#39;ve always avoided digital before, but when my producer gave me the option of a one-day shoot with 16mm or two with a Red camera I had little choice.&quot;To avoid that typical overexposed sky that makes anything look digital, we chose the right angles and time of the day. With the interiors everything worked perfectly well and I have to say that I probably prefer a Red if I&#39;m shooting inside to a 16mm since the resolution is much higher. Still I would definitely stick to film if I&#39;m working outdoors.&quot;Since we had put most of the budget in the actual shoot, we did all the postproduction in-house in Madrid. It was all done by one person, the multi skilled Guillem Ventura (except for the 3D UFOs) using Final Cut, Color and Shake.&quot;
