Directing brothers The Reids present a fast and furious fever dream for RAYE's supremely catchy first offering from her next album.The video for the infectious Where Is My Husband! is both very RAYE and very Reids, channelling some of the dizzying visual language in <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2024/06/13/raye-genesis-otis-dominique-raye/86792" target="_blank">Genesis</a> -&nbsp;the singer's magnum opus&nbsp;from early last year -&nbsp;with the breathless energy of William and Ed Reid's&nbsp;video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2024/06/26/james-blake-thrown-around-reids/87009" target="_blank">James Blake's Thrown Around</a>.Essentially it's a very enjoyable live action cartoon, dealing with a personal subject - RAYE's continuing singledom -&nbsp;with humour and pizzazz.[imgtoken data:1]The project is announced the way Genesis ends, with the insignia of a classic Warner Bros cartoon,&nbsp;flagging&nbsp;RAYE's new musical direction as Retro Pop, and then dropping her from a black void into a hotel corridor where she sees her ideal man walking away, slightly out of reach. And then she's handed a mic as she's thrust into a Supremes-style girl group.From then on, RAYE is thrown into different scenarios, switching between colour and black and white, and never quite managing to get hold of The Husband she has yet to meet.&nbsp;There's so much going on, it's something that really rewards further viewing - to enjoy the technical feat provided by the directors, and RAYE's outstanding, thoroughly committed&nbsp;performance.&nbsp;

Relta directs the official short film for Kojey Radical's new album, charting the artist's self-appraisal at a crucial moment in his life through an ambitious twist on music video conventions. &nbsp;In Don't Look Down -&nbsp;inspired by the album of the same name - Relta builds a world around Kojey that is, on the face of it, highly music video-friendly. It starts with a house party, but the host and star of the show, is struggling to cope with the situation. What follows is impressive, not just for Kojey's performance - which is excellent - including his frankness about experiencing any mental fragility, but that the film continues to subvert expectations.In the film, Relta and team have made a real benefit with their imaginative approach to environment is reflecting Kojey's state of mind. The rooms of a house (or houses) are revealed to be part of a connected studio set. This is clear in the part of the film devoted to the track Rule One&nbsp;- which was also released as <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2025/06/04/kojey-radical-ft-bawo-rule-one-relta/91309" target="_blank">a separate video</a> - but feels more meaningful as part of the bigger picture of the film, where the music video language of the dreamscape comes with a wider message.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Relta also deals with a sizeable cast, almost throughout the film, who are playing the both the important people and minor figures&nbsp;in Kojey's life, which also highlights both the pressure and the rewards. It allows guest performers Bawo and Ghetts&nbsp;to fit seamlessly into this world. But ultimately it all serves to push the theme of Kojey's personal journey, and his embracing of real-world responsibilities, in a way feels both personal and entirely&nbsp;relatable.&nbsp;So this is&nbsp;an inspired and accomplished piece, and an excellent effort from all involved.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]

Following the fierce polemic of <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2025/07/09/kneecap-ft-mozey-recap-finn-keenan/91773" target="_blank">The Recap</a>, Finn Keenan reunites with Kneecap for their collaboration with Orbital's Paul Hartnoll - and presents the brilliant Jamie-Lee O'Donnell as the office drone unable to get raving out of her head.With the usual intensity of Kneecap ramped up even further by&nbsp;Hartnoll's beats, in the Sayōnara video Jamie-Lee is disturbed&nbsp;from&nbsp;her office duties by visions of uninhibited nights in clubland - episodes&nbsp;that are increasingly blurring into reality. She's just about keeping it together - even as she starts seeing&nbsp;her suspicious work colleagues in fetishwear.Until it all kicks off: suddenly Jamie-Lee is driving around Belfast in the Kneecap-pimped&nbsp;Land Rover, and finally streams of light from her eyes and mouth - surely a reference to the iconic Kneecap balaclava.&nbsp;This off-the wall comic narrative really works with the track, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell is great, and as with all things Kneecap, the comedy of the raver's existence&nbsp;comes with some serious intent.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]"The intensity and ominous tone of Sayōnara reminded me of both the best nights out and the brutal days that followed - that’s what sparked the idea," says Finn Keenan.&nbsp;"But I wanted to turn a typical dance video on its head and focus on the aftermath and how the chemicals in your body change as the week progresses. I wanted to capture the visceral intensity of paranoia and intrusive thoughts. Somehow, that 'never again'&nbsp;anxiety of Monday slowly shifts by Friday into a 'Weekend is here. Monday will never happen again!'&nbsp;optimism.Keenan adds that he and the band also&nbsp;wanted to nod to Belfast’s rave history. "In the 90s,&nbsp;raves weren’t just parties, they were acts of resistance, dangerous but vital spaces where Catholics and Protestants came to be together and dance," he explains.&nbsp;"That spirit is what fuels the scene of Jamie Lee driving the pimped-up Kneecap Land Rover across the city - a kind of rave pied piper, spreading the idea that art, music, and creativity can break down the metaphorical walls which are often stronger than the physical ones. Pent-up anger and frustration are released through dance instead of turning into hate."Which is what the ludicrous end of the video is about. I wanted this end scene to be feral! Working with Jamie Lee made this possible. She’s one of the most open, vulnerable and fun people i’ve ever met. Working with her was incredible."We didn't have a choreographer so for the end dance we’d have a chat before each take and then she channeled her own stories and emotions into the performances, each one completely different than the last and each one genuinely left the crew speechless. It was an incredible thing to witness. It's been a tumultuous period for Irish rappers Kneecap - under intense political pressure and immense media scrutiny, gigs cancelled and their appearance at&nbsp;Glastonbury under threat. And now here is a statement - in both the track and the powerful visual by Finn Keenan - about their defiance and resolve.&nbsp;It all came together very quickly, in the days following that blistering performance at Glastonbury, but Keenan's extraordinary visualisation of The Recap - documentary combined with impish animations, political polemic and celebration of their unshakeable support for Palestine -&nbsp;may be the most significant thing that Kneecap have done. And that includes their amazing movie.&nbsp;This is an intense experience, and certainly one primarily for their fervent supporters. But as with Kneecap, as well as the political message there is humour - and also a shoutout to Helen Wilson, the lady in the crowd at Glastonbury who livestreamed the performance to the world.&nbsp;Finn Keenan has commented: “It took a lot of Incredibly talented and passionate people to come together to make this video in just over a week.
