NIYADRE reunites with BINA. for her team-up with Australian based hiphop artist Tkay Maidza to direct an pulsating visual for R U Ok.Following the effervescent The Art Of Anger, featuring the South London singer and model - aka Sabrina Obiago - on a day out partying with pals, this is a more contained affair, an energetic performance video that all happens in a single location. And it's fair to say that the director is pleased with how this one has turned out.“Love this one!" says NIYADRE. "It’s crazy to think it’s all shot in one room. It’s everything I love in a music video: filmic textures, performance, minimalism and a lil bit of darkness.”

Tally Francis directs an absorbing, vintage-inspired promo for rising pop artist Natanya. The video for Show Me Right is the tenth video Tally Francis has directed for Natanya, continuing to build her distinctive creative universe of playful theatrics, classical Hollywood cinema references and strong choreography. This one was inspired by pre-Hays Code musicals such as King of Jazz (1930) and explores the tension between Natanya the performer and Natanya the artist, moving between a music-note-filled dream world and a showgirl-inspired dance hall.In keeping with Natanya and Tally’s desire to emphasise physical craft, all props were handmade to closely replicate pieces from the era they reference while the costumes were directly pulled from early-to-mid 20th Century fashion archives. It leans into a glamorous, playful performance and strong visual hooks, and a good match to the uplifting track.

BINA. heads out with her girls for a big day of partying - until things get a bit too much - in a striking and clever promo by NIYADRE. The director - aka Niya Taylor - reunites with the South London singer and model - aka Sabrina Obiago - on the video for The Art Of Anger, employing a compelling visual device. It's the day from BINA.'s perspective, while also constantly being on-camera.Shot predominately on a body-mounted camera, viewers follow BINA. as she moves through different scenarios and situations in on a hot summer's day in London surrounded by her girly entourage. It boasts unique angles and fresh perspectives, whilst also incorporating a slick studio performance.Creatively ambitious and exciting, it's a stirring vision by NIYADRE. It's also intense, so perhaps its not surprising that BINA starts to feel a little dizzy... [imgtoken data:1]

Stone Taul directs an enigmatic LA-set story for Welsh singer-songwriter Strawberry Guy - aka Alex Stephens - featuring Sadie Sandler. From a story by Stephens and shot on 35mm by DoP Natasha Abdul, Taul's video for Love Me Like You Used To has the structure of a short film, where we follow Sadie Sandler's character from the time she fails to get her father's attention and then leaves the house. As she wanders around her neighbourhood - including visiting a 7/11 type store where Stephens is the cashier - the commonplace is combined with the extraordinary, and eventually results in a kind of epiphany.Sadie Sandler is an engaging lead. She may be regarded as Hollywood royalty (she's the daughter of Adam) but she's relatable, even though Taul does not explain what is motivating her, leaving the viewer to draw their own conclusions.Stephens' lushly melodic, downbeat song does not drive the narrative but it is a strong accompaniment too. So this leaves a real impression.

Natanya and her date go to a drive-in movie - where Natanya is also the star on the silver screen - in Tally Francis's video. The slick visual for the rising Brit R&B singer's Play With A Kiss includes an interlude, when the movie breaks down and the announcer (the voice of PinkPantheress, no less) tells the couple to leave the field - in their convertible with Natanya's personalised number plate.A fun video for the singer-songwriter and producer bringing back a classy, old school R&B style - and on the verge of big things.

Niyadre's visualiser for JADE's Church M.A.S.S. is dedicated to her loyal fans who have followed her through her first era as a solo artist.A performance held for a select group of the singer's fans in a church-like environment is shot on a number of cameras and formats for a spontaneous and raw effect. This all works really well for JADE's style, where she can be passionate, operatic and yet slightly tongue-in-cheek all at the same time.As she has shown on several occasions this year, she is essentially the Queen of the Visualiser.

Eve Mahony directs an emotional performance by South London singer Skye Newman on multiple formats.Skye delivers a quietly powerful confessional in a visual that balances simplicity with emotional weight. Shot to match her delicate production, and project her charisma and soulful voice, the video is shot in deserted streets and industrial spaces, bathed in late summer sun.Entirely focussed on Skye, with elements shot on Hi8, the video draws into her story.  A family-rooted meditation brought to life.[imgtoken data:1]

JADE channels her younger self in Niyadre's intimate visual created for the release of the visual album of That's Showbiz Baby!Shot in her hometown of South Shields, the visualiser for Before You Break My Heart sees JADE's niece playing the younger version of herself, taking on lip-sync duties and playing out the dream of being a performer. It taps into the themes of JADE's solo debut, but Niyadre - who shot as well as directed this - strikes a different note to the zany comedy in many of the other videos and visualisers for the album.Intercut with shots of the pair running around having fun, it's a breezy, charming piece, and a reminder of JADE's success and realisation of her wildest dreams.

Joy Crookes self-directs the promo for Perfect Crime, and gives a marvellous performance in the incredible setting of Dhaka, Bangladesh - the country of her mother’s birth. The video sees Joy in various locations around Dhaka - including riding atop a moving train. Throughout she pays homage to her heritage, the rich cultural life and vibrant spirit of the Bangladesh capital, while giving a characteristically charismatic and charming performance of the song. With outstanding work of DoP Donny Johnson, Joy inhabits each well-considered location in a way that reflects her name. Without missing a beat of how a performance video should look and feel, this does give the sense of someone coming back to their roots. And what a place this is.The fact that Joy directed the video followed on from having co-produced Perfect Crime for her forthcoming album Juniper with Harvey Grant. When her idea for the visuals crystallised, she wanted to carry the ownership of producing the song through by directing the video.“The choreography was intended to be quite simple and repetitive but against a foil of something that was almost overstimulating," she explains. "The location wasn’t even really a question. Dhaka, Bangladesh was the ideal backdrop. The city’s imperfect beauty and chaos imbues the video with an atmosphere that can’t be emulated or recreated. It was a perfect pairing.”[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2][imgtoken data:3][imgtoken data:4][imgtoken data:5][imgtoken data:6][imgtoken data:7]

Joseph Delaney builds a genuinely creepy atmosphere in his slow-burning gothic chiller for Manchester rock band Witch Fever. Delaney generates an intense sense of foreboding through lead singer Amy's increasingly unhinged performance, in the bare room of a large house, striking editing and in-camera effects. The use of sudden single frame edits in Jed Darlington-Roberts' richly colourful cinematography is particularly unsettling. 'Had so much fun mining my favourite gothic stories, delving into the depths of hysteria and further indulging my pyromania for northern metal coven Witch Fever’s incredible new release The Garden,” says Joseph Delaney."Inspired by the symbol-laden lyrics and emotive push and pull of their new music, we imagined a northern gothic story that treads the line between the supernatural, psychological torment and the blurred line that can exist between them in a mind that’s in the midst of a moment of unhinging - something I’m not all too unfamiliar with…"Thanks to Witch Fever and team for having us, to my team that threw themselves into this (and were possibly latched onto by a sinister spectre along the way) and watch this space for more soon."

Sarah Dattani Tucker directs a cinematic visualiser for Jade's Acoustic version of FUFN.Focusing on JADE's expressive performance and movements, the video plays with texture and light to create a lo-fi daydream. In the spirit of JADE's previous visualisers, it's a stripped back, lowkey affair, anchored by brilliant direction and an impassioned performance at its core.

Harv Frost directs a gripping promo for indie rock outfit Black Honey where lead singer Izzy Baxter Phillips is a prisoner, confronted with a barrage of distressing scenes.Rather than Hitchcock - as the songtitle might suggest - the video for Psycho pays homage to Kubrick - in particular the notorious 'aversion therapy' scenes in A Clockwork Orange. Like Alex in the movie, Izzy is similarly strapped to a chair, repeatedly forced to watch a fast-cut montage of traumatic imagery, monitored by Establishment males, played by her bandmates. Izzy falls into a hallucinatory cycle, catching eye of a shocking image - and it is quite a shock - as she is led to the chair. She gives a captivating performance as her mental state deteriorates, and then escapes her captivity to find the paraphanalia driving her torture. But is she a Psycho? Harv Frost draws the viewer closer to Izzy and keeps the viewer guessing right till the end. [imgtoken data:1]

Matt Maltese resists a rival for the affections of his girlfriend in Prasanna Puwanarajah's charming video for Always Some MF.Puwanarajah sets up a love triangle in a country house, where 'The MF' played by Ira Mandela Siobhan challenges Maltese to a fencing duel, to win the hand of the singer's attractive love, Nadia Parkes - to accompany Maltese's performance of a laidback jazz-pop track with a lyrical sting. The video for Always Some MF follows the collaboration between actor/director Puwanarajah and Maltese on the Royal Shakespeare Company's recent stage production of Twelfth Night - directed by Puwanarajah, with music composed by Maltese. “Matt’s a generational artist and it’s been an honour to work with him again on Always Some MF after our collaboration at the RSC last year," says Puwanarajah. "We wanted to create a film that explored the complexities of love and relationships with - we hope - the wit and wierdness that a life with another person requires and yields."Matt’s got a strange and beautiful take on the world, on relationships and the collision of ordinary life, I love his music and our growing collaboration and I hope this song runs and runs.”

Laurence Warder directs an entertaining surreal adventure for Rag'n'Bone Man, where the artist's body and head meet for the first time. The video for Pocket is a colourful and surreal take on the feeling of a first date, and being 'put in someone's pocket' - and it takes Rory Graham, aka Rag'n'Bone Man, in a more lighthearted direction in a video than we have previously seen. With judicious use of VFX - including a head designed by Will Harvey at Monster FX - Warder gives his interpretation of putting oneself back together, as the delivery of a surprise package - Rag'n'Bone Man's head - begins a whirlwind relationship between head and body, set against the backdrop of Margate's seafront. The visual effects and experimental perspectives add a hallucinatory feel to the visual, which ramps up in weirdness right until the climax, where the artist is able to put himself together again. Absorbing and fun, and certainly different to a usual Rag'n'Bone visual, it absolutely knocks it out the park.[imgtoken data:1]

The bandmembers of British metalcore outfit Bury Tomorrow are transfixed by mesmeric vortex-based event in Ricky Allen's cinematic video. The visual for Villian Arc is a slow-burning build to a series of unsettling, atmospheric VFX-fired moments, twisting the everyday, that supplement the sense of foreboding supplied by the track. As it turns out, it was the mundane everyday that provided Allen with his inspiration for the video. [imgtoken data:1]"To me, this song embodies transformation, for better or worse, whether it's felt within yourself or recognised by others," says Allen. "These changes don't typically happen like in the movies; instead, they often occur during our everyday routines - like doing laundry. You know, the really boring stuff."I found this to be a particularly interesting train of thought. Though, I should remind myself not to start my pitch with, "Yeah, so there's this washing machine…”. That tends to get some concerned looks."I've always had an odd fear of a washing machine's spin cycle in an empty room (feel free to quote me on that). It reminds me of that scene from Home Alone when Kevin ventures into the basement and confronts the furnace. So, when I heard the opening riff of this song, my mind instantly pictured a washing machine spinning and then starting to emit light. This imagery became the foundation for the video."
