James Slater directs a gothic fantasy for indie-rock outfit Pale Waves.&nbsp;Taking place in a nondescript church, the performance video is simple in concept, but executed to perfection, with vocalist Heather Baron-Gracie as the constant focus as a radiant goth bride.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Jon Muschamp's lighting adds an ethereal feel to the aesthetic, with effervescent bursts of colour inspired by stained glass windows and blue-tinged key lights to create a cold, almost haunting atmosphere.&nbsp;The production design is also a highlight, utilising scattered practical lights and candles to elevate the enigmatic concept.

Ben Lankester returns to music videos with an intense and riveting study of a fiercely committed boxer for Big Ideas.The band is the new project by&nbsp;Nathan Nicholson and Adam Harrison - of The Boxer Rebellion -&nbsp;and Lankester himself, on board as creative director and responsible for the visual identity of the project. And the video for the debut release The American Dream is a powerful statement of intent, featuring a charismatic performance by the boxer and actor Tom Benett.With superb cinematography by Carl Burke, Lankester focusses upon&nbsp;the boxer's punishing training regime, his manic drive to be the champion, and the devastating&nbsp;impact it has upon his mental wellbeing.&nbsp;The story is told more as a psychodrama, which puts character and metaphor ahead of typical narrative; and Lankester and Burke draw upon the rich heritage of boxing in film to show a man brought low by his commitment to the American Dream.&nbsp;The end result is a video that punches well above it's weight.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Oscar Hudson is back, directing&nbsp;a&nbsp;fever dream wrapped in a music video for Slowthai.&nbsp;The concept for Feel Away opens&nbsp;rather innocently... Slowthai - real name Tyron Frampton - is with his girlfriend (played by Guindilla Ontanaya) at a maternity ward, shot through her first person perspective.Reality soon takes&nbsp;a distorted plunge into more surreal territory, as the perspective switches&nbsp;and it's Frampton who now has a baby growing inside of him. Cascading into multiple nightmare scenarios, his love interest falls in love with a doctor, his limbs turn into cake and the baby lipsyncs the lyrics via&nbsp;the ultrasound screen.&nbsp;Truly weird and wonderful, the video takes a sharp turn into the uncanny valley and doesn't let up until the final, haunting frame. The use of first person perspective drops the viewer right into the middle of this world, creating an erratic and claustrophobic environment with no way out.&nbsp;

Understated but powerful, Cavetown's solo appearance in the video is poignant, and represents how the underlying themes are both personal and universal.&nbsp;Superbly shot by&nbsp;Francis Lane, the balance of dark and light helps represent the duality of the project, and the spinning camera movements and striking art direction ensure our attention is kept throughout.&nbsp;

Silent Tapes explore the complexities of teenage parenthood - the chaos, the craziness, the anger, and also the love - in their engrossing video for Everyone You Know.Much as the song&nbsp;reveals its intent as it goes along, things are not quite as they may seem at the beginning of the video for She Don't Dance. But at its core are some terrific performances, particularly by the girl playing the young mother, who juggles from clinging on to her precious youth with the responsibilities of her toddler daughter - a bright as a button presence in the video herself.&nbsp;Their mates may be hard-smoking ruffians (and why always so much smoking?) but this&nbsp;family unit is by no means as dysfunctional as you might think.

A riotously entertaining video for new band Push Baby&#39;s ode to the ironies of modern fame, co-directed by frontman Jake Roche and Moon, for the band&#39;s debut Mama&#39;s House.It&#39;s a series of adrenalin-fuelled performance scenarios, delivered with panache and showcasing Roche&#39;s considerable charisma - starting with him in his Y fronts with his eyes gouged out, with a donkey, in a padded cell of his own making. And the intensity never flags from that point.&nbsp;&nbsp;With Francis Lane&#39;s striking cinematography, the band move into a performance scenario made for ultra-violet light, which blows up into a flourescent light show.&nbsp;And then moves into more conceptual rooms -&nbsp;each showing off each of bandmember and different elements of Jake&rsquo;s deep dark thoughts&nbsp;- and eventually one that collapses to reveal its in the middle of nowhere, next to a flaming kiosk - and then things get really weird...This wild tour de force&nbsp;took four months to make, a real achievement entirely made with practical effects - no CGI here. It does have an old-school feel - but Push Baby are one for the future.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;
