Will Dohrn directs a brilliantly inventive promo for Jeshi, mixing&nbsp;live action with thousands of printed photographs to brilliant effect.Shot entirely practically in locations around London, the video is a remarkable feat, with an arresting yet fluid aesthetic which interweaves multiple formats and storylines. Jeshi's understated performance style slots in to the concept perfectly too, ensuring the final project, which was graded by Connor Coolbear, is&nbsp;both seamless and brilliantly watchable.Will Dohrn reveals that his inspiration came from pre-motion film technology, adapted to the modern world.&nbsp;"Life as a zoopraxiscope," he says, describing the overall concept."The zoopraxiscope was invented by Eadweard Muybridge in the late 1800’s," Dohrn explains.&nbsp;"[Muybridge] realised that spinning a series of photographs or illustrations in front of the eye at a certain speed would animate the images, inventing the first ever motion picture or video as we now describe it.&nbsp;"In the film we unravel the zoopraxiscope into a seemingly never-ending line of photographs that portray recollections from Jeshi’s past, guiding his path through familiar or significant places in his life."&nbsp;

Edem Wornoo directs a reflective promo for Tik-Tok sensation Zakhar.&nbsp;The video touches upon the artist's self-belief and his mission to prove doubters wrong, and was filmed on the&nbsp;Islington block in which he lives.&nbsp;The cinematic visuals make excellent use of light and silhouette, and understated VFX that renders Zakhar's pals as invisible, Wornoo teases elements of a narrative,&nbsp;whilst keeping the focus on Zakhar's introspective but compelling performance.&nbsp;Boasting a confident and assured energy, something tells us 2022 will be a big year for the newcomer - and indeed the creative team behind the dynamic video.&nbsp;

Big Zuu, JME and Novelist mete out some revenge on their haters in Edem Wornoo and Claymation maestro William Child's collaboration for Offline.With the track directed at the internet trolls who have doled out abuse online to each artist, Wornoo and Child have created a visual that allows each rapper to find their own chief&nbsp;tormentor and deliver some justice, in full-bodied Claymation-style.&nbsp;Wornoo developed the concept for the video, and then brought it to Child's studio, Gravy Mercedes, in Bristol, to bring it to life. It's the first time they have worked together - indeed the first time Child has co-directed a project.[imgtoken data:1]“OTT violence is always a lot of fun in Claymation," notes Child. "And it feels like a great medium to reflect Zuu, JME and Nov’s performance personas as funny, chilled guys....until you f*ck-around-and-find-out that they don’t take insults lightly.”<blockquote>OTT violence is always a lot of fun in Claymation.</blockquote>"This video is a homage to a time before we could hide behind screens, a time when words and actions held consequences," says Wornoo, adding that Child's attention to detail during its production was something to behold.&nbsp;“He should have his own TV show because every time his Claymation brought one of our scenes to life I genuinely laughed out loud.”The video shows Child leaning into Wornoo’s 'street level fantasy'&nbsp;incorporating luminescent lighting that adds a somewhat dream-like quality.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]In addition, with the help of DoP Luke Harper and compositor Harry Davidson, the video features live action footage interspliced on TV screens in the stop-motion world, recorded on a FLIR thermal imaging camera, with its own punchy in-camera colour scale. The directors were able to bridge the two worlds harmoniously.“It was my first time sharing directing responsibilities with someone else, meaning a totally different workflow to that I’m used to," he&nbsp;says of the production which was created in both Bristol and London.&nbsp;“Edem is incredibly talented and the clarity of his initial vision for the video made it super easy to understand and then execute.&nbsp;Between Edem’s on- point notes and Ground Work’s meticulous production, it made for a great experience for my first time collaborating in this way.”

London filmmaker Naomi Grant has shared a director’s cut of Infidel, the music video she directed for New York singer-songwriter Infinite Coles.The video was created through Three Minutes, Crack Magazine’s incubator scheme funding five music videos by young, unsigned directors.Shot in a warehouse setting, with well-crafted use of colour and art direction around the performance by Coles and a dancer,&nbsp;the Infidel music video is a poignant depiction of the journey to self-discovery and the confusion and isolation that come with it. Following its release last month, this is the Director’s Cut, which expands on Grant's vision.

"I had been working really hard, just going going going... When I actually stopped to be with myself and be still, I didn’t know what to do. I was having really horrible mental health problems and I ruined my vacation for myself; so I quite literally had a panic attack in paradise.”
