Following the glamorous promo for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2023/03/01/jessie-ware-pearls-sophie-muller-theo-adams/80564">Pearls,&nbsp;</a>Sophie Muller and Theo Adams reunite with Jessie Ware, this time with Róisín Murphy along for the ride, for the Freak Me Now video - and it's a hoot.&nbsp;Featuring a feverish blend of disco aesthetics and hypnotic editing, the video sees the two artists in their element, bringing a sense of theatrical splendour to the performance vignettes.&nbsp;And by the sounds of it, as they talk about their collab below, Jessie and&nbsp;Róisín had lots of fun on the shoot.It's a vibrant mash-up of colour and patterns - bringing the vid for Deee-Lite's classic Groove Is In The Heart to mind - with an unabashed sense of fun and playfulness to boot.[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>We had mad fun dressing up on the day of the video. Sparks fly and chaos reigns when Kylie comes to Jessie Ware's restaurant, in Sophie Muller's brilliant Telenovella-style video for Kiss Of Life.&nbsp;Kylie plays a mysterious dinner guest, secretly a critic out to deliver the verdict on the place&nbsp;run by the indominable Jessie, among an outrageously larger-than-life bunch of&nbsp;fellow diners. The mini-dramas of the women's rivalry plays out like an '80s Latin soap opera, with further nods to early Almodovar, and a bit of silent comedy for good measure - plus a cast from a Fellini movie&nbsp;-&nbsp;shot on authentic video camera equipment from the period, for that genuine oversaturated look. Phew.[imgtoken data:1]Muller's latest video for&nbsp;Kylie is also her second collaboration with creative director and performance director&nbsp;Theo Adams, after the Kylie and Years &amp; Years video for A Second To Midnight, and together they have a devised this delicious scenario in which both Kylie and Jessie play their parts - and perform the song - with suitable relish. In fact, could this&nbsp;be Kylie's first role in a soap since leaving Neighbours...?Adams says of collaborating on the music video with Muller: “It all happened quite organically between us both sitting at her kitchen table cackling away coming up with this fever dream of chaos!"Adams was responsible for recruiting the&nbsp;amazing cast of performers in the video, including&nbsp;nightlife royalty Princess Julia, among others. They are&nbsp;indeed the&nbsp;Theo Adams Company, and they play such a crucial role in bringing effervescent chaos to proceedings -&nbsp;shot in a real&nbsp;Italian restaurant in London's Covent Garden,&nbsp;the garishly maximalist Ave Mario's.[imgtoken data:2]As a result of the location choice, the whole video was shot overnight, when the restaurant was closed. And the&nbsp;shoot itself was undertaken rather like an episode of an 80s Telenovella, as Sophie Muller explains.&nbsp;“The video was all shot on an 80’s news camera - the ikegami 79D three-tube 1980’s colour portable - at a hair raising speed," she says. "And considering the hellishly late night/early morning hours of the shoot, everyone contributed their finest performances.”Apart from the necessary element of chaos - which was possibly quite easy to achieve - the whole&nbsp;kaboodle plays to the artists' strengths. The food connection works for Jessie Ware (cookery writer and podcaster as well as consummate soul singer) and the outrageously camp scenario obviously fits the&nbsp;Kylie iconography&nbsp;like a glove.&nbsp;But not only is this arguably the campiest video she's ever done, she looks utterly iconic in this. And she is funny.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:3]As has been <a href="https://www.wmagazine.com/culture/kylie-minogue-jessie-ware-kiss-of-life-fashion" target="_blank">pointed out elsewhere</a>, the video is also a haute couture spectacle - with the leading ladies decked out in Saint Laurent and Valentino&nbsp;- and this certainly involved a larger than normal&nbsp;glam squad. And it culminates with a rare music video monologue from Kylie, who reads out her five-star review of the restaurant as she types it up on an old typewriter. Well, she's tapping the keys anyway...It's so good. And after this, apparently there's a Kylie collab with disco queen Gloria Gaynor to look forward to...

Sophie Muller directs a zesty, effervescent promo for Kylie's return to her disco comfort zone.&nbsp;Taking place in the outer reaches of the disco galaxy, the video cycles between glittering performance shots - atop an opulent horse statue, no less - and snippets of choreography, all overlaid with shooting stars and galactic visual effects.&nbsp;The maximalist video&nbsp;pays homage to some of Sophie Muller's strongest work - most comparably&nbsp;the dream sequence in No Doubt's Simple Kind Of Life -&nbsp;but with a fresh and contemporary twist.Kylie's performance is as animated, dynamic and Kylie-esque as ever, encapsulating the fun and unabashed energy of the track whilst reminding her contemporaries why the world first fell in love with her some three decades ago.&nbsp;This is Muller and Minogue's fourth video collaboration together - but the first for a while. Sophie Muller's first video since signing to Prettybird sees her making her third video for the now singularly-named Cheryl. And as well as the name reduction, it's also a Cheryl as we've never seen her before.That's making the&nbsp;video a magnet for debate about whether or not Cheryl has had facial surgery, and a bigger one about the pressure on our pop stars to stay young-looking. But in fact, the video is something of a triumph on its own terms. After you watch it once, you can focus on the more important stuff, and appreciate the fact that Sophie Muller has done it again.This is a very slick pop product that ticks the boxes. It sees Muller reunited with one of the old school great DoPs, Dan Landin, and the use of art direction, lighting and choreography is top notch, with something of a 90s flavour, updated for 2018. But at the heart, Cheryl herself gives a performance of comeback single Love Made Me Do It that that adds&nbsp;personality, warmth and humour to the&nbsp;singing-and-dancing stuff. It&nbsp;seems to be saying: 'this is just all a bit of fun, isn't it?'.&nbsp;&nbsp;Good for you, Cheryl.&nbsp;

Björk returns with another collaboration with Andrew Thomas Huang, together with Gucci&#39;s Alessandro Michele and headdress designer James Merry.The Gate is the first track taken from Björk&#39;s new album (produced by Arca) but the visual style is a continuation of the ethereal, performance and tech-heavy visuals that accompanied her previous one, Vulnicura. The change is is perhaps in the world around Bjork: it&#39;s turned into a much less forbidding and much brighter place, and Andrew Thomas Huang brings a CGI-enhanced&nbsp;vision to work with the extraordinary irridescent garment,&nbsp;designed by Alessandro&nbsp;Michele, that&#39;s worn by Bjork.&ldquo;The Gate is essentially a love song, but I say &lsquo;love&rsquo; in a more transcendent way,&quot; Björk has told Dazed magazine.&nbsp;&quot;Vulnicura was about a very personal loss, and I think this new album is about a love that&rsquo;s even greater. It&rsquo;s about rediscovering love&mdash;but in a spiritual way, for lack of a better word.&rdquo;

Two years on from the release of Vulnicura, Björk is still producing visual gems to accompany tracks from the album, and supplying new variations on what has gone before. In the case of Notget, Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton-Jones have already directed a VR experience for the song, but now here comes a more cinematic version.It is delightful, perhaps the best visual accompaniment to anything on Vulnicura.&nbsp;Beautifully costumed, as always, In the first black and white section of the video, Bjork threatens to metamorph into a giant moth-like creature.The second half is in colour, where the directors distinctive vision fully comes into play: a combination of pulsating flourescent pinks and yellows against humming darkness to frame Bjork in a remarkable headress/mask, designed by her and fellow creative James Merry. Fabulous.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Lily Allen reflects on re-entering the pop game and getting to grips with all the other pop-diva ladies, and aiming to be top girl - or, as she calls it,&nbsp;Sheezus.And nothing really distracts from this slightly Gaga-baiting message in the video by Russ Murphy - aka RUFFMERCY &ndash;&nbsp;who enhances Lily&#39;s performance with his trademark&nbsp;hand-drawn overlaying animation.Russ&#39;s work has graced numerous hip-hop videos in the past year or so - quite simply&nbsp;it works really well with performers trading&nbsp;in wordplay and verbal wit. That&#39;s why it works well here too.&nbsp;And although Lily gets a bit of a hip-hop&nbsp;makeover too, this is certainly a breakthough of the cool RUFFMERCY style&nbsp;through to a new audience.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
