What could be more horrific than human pubic hair that comes to life and then wants to exact revenge upon its owner?Actually this wiry little ball could hardly be cuter. Christopher&nbsp;Watson-Wood and his team at Mad Ruffian have somehow managed to turn something that normally clogs up your drainpipe into a lovable, lonely hero, in this latest video for Anglo-Swedish indie outfit Francobollo. And that&#39;s despite the fact that his CGI creation is irrationally&nbsp;jealous and&nbsp;possessive towards its former owner, and sets about attempting to sabotage her hot date.It&#39;s an interesting, fun take on the Freudian Oedipus complex, and with a horror-tinged ending that matches up with the personality of the band - and perfectly timed for Halloween.

Christopher Watson-Wood - nominated for Best VFX at the UKMVAs last year for his work on Darwin Deez&#39;s <a href="http://promonews.tv/videos/2015/06/17/darwin-deez-kill-your-attitude-dent-de-cuir" target="_blank">Kill Your Attitude</a> &ndash; has now done a remarkable job remodelling still photos into an entirely 3D world in this promo for the10th anniversary&nbsp;In The Woods Festival - featuring a soundtrack by Glass Animals.&nbsp;&nbsp;This involved meticulously modelling the still photos in CG and projection mapping and digitally painting the images, ultimately allowing the camera (and, therefore the viewer) to float over the scenes that are seemingly frozen in time. Then the immersion goes a stage further, as Glass Animals&#39; Holiest kicks in, and the inner souls of revellers are revealed...Mad Ruffian have also created an illuminating&nbsp;Behind The FX&nbsp;film that shows how they used Houdini to model the scenes from the photos - and then hand-sculpted lots of new elements in CGI to create the 3D effect. Quite ingenious.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Shot in his home town of&nbsp;Long Beach, California, David M. Helman&#39;s video for&nbsp;Vince Staples&#39; Lift Me Up,&nbsp;from his debut album Summertime 06,&nbsp;captures the&nbsp;sense of tension and instability of the track with shots of the city taken at odd&nbsp;angles showing&nbsp;the rapper&#39;s inability to reach&nbsp;solid ground.When Staples&#39; body&nbsp;isn&#39;t seen tilting this way and that, it&#39;s floored on the ground as&nbsp;the world spins&nbsp;wildly around him. It&#39;s effective stuff,&nbsp;subjecting the viewer to the artist&#39;s&nbsp;own dizzying&nbsp;disorientation as he directly asks&nbsp;the viewer to&nbsp;be lifted up and out of it.&nbsp;

From Paris/Montreal-based directing collective&nbsp;Dent de Cuir - creators of the brilliant video for DyE&#39;s She&#39;s Bad last year &ndash;&nbsp;now comes&nbsp;this&nbsp;stunning video for Darwin Deez&#39;s&nbsp;Kill Your Attitude, the hotly anticipated&nbsp;first release from the indie pop songsmith&#39;s new album.Inspired by the song&rsquo;s&nbsp;lyrical theme of &ldquo;love is war&rdquo;, the video has been turned into an absolute visual&nbsp;masterpiece, in which Darwin is unknowingly immersed in a &#39;first person shooter&#39; game&nbsp;arena.Our hapless hero finds himself being hunted down by his better half for all those small things you&nbsp;do in a relationship that start to annoy: hogging the duvet cover, emptying the fridge, ever buying food, and not doing&nbsp;the washing up...To achieve this Dent De Cuir and Ruffian Post constructed an original&nbsp;video game world for Darwin to be dropped into. It&#39;s&nbsp;almost certainly the first time this has been done in a pop&nbsp;video - and Dent de Cuir explain below how it was done.&nbsp;

After the videos for Never Catch Me and Ready Err Not, the director known as Young Replicant&nbsp;addresses another track on the Flying Lotus album You&#39;re Dead! with a fresh approach to the record&#39;s&nbsp;overarching&nbsp;theme - death and the afterlife.&nbsp;As a man lies on his deathbed, reality and dreamtime blurs. But the dying man&#39;s hallucinatory journey is not about to offer him much consolation. Quite the opposite it seems.&nbsp;&quot;I would mention the Tibetan Book of the Dead, but who wants to hear about that?&quot; says Young Replicant. &quot;It&#39;s a story about a father navigating through the afterlife bardo, the intermediate zone, towards a new state.&quot;&nbsp;It&#39;s also a story that FlyLo aka&nbsp;Steven Ellison - who makes a rare&nbsp;appearance in one of his own videos, as part of a &#39;ghost chorus&#39; that trails the father - says &quot;encapsulates the meaning of the record...it&#39;s one of the most important moments on&nbsp;You&rsquo;re Dead!&nbsp;and holds ideas I&rsquo;m planning to explore in my future work.&rdquo; &nbsp;
