The human race's symbiotic relationship with nature is explored in AG Rojas' video for Naeem.&nbsp;Exploring the potential of intergenerational healing, the complex and mysterious video - Bon Iver's first live action visual in seven years- focuses on two sets of family members who each encounter a floating rock in the middle of a road. A Father sets his dying adult son in front of this rock, and a Mother encourages it to open up the next day to provide water to cleanse her baby son.&nbsp;Intentionally ambiguous, Naeem is full of symbolism with reference to religion, femininity and intergenerational trauma, and each viewer's perception of the events will no doubt be informed by their life experience. Touching upon powerful and important ideas, the video meditates on the state of our planet and people, and the cycle of life and death that every living being encounters throughout our shared journeys. The word Naeem can be translated as "happiness" or "comfort", suggesting a return to a peaceful existence, the status quo of our earliest ancestors.&nbsp;The power of change and potential for peace is the message we are encouraged to take away from this project, and the importance of questioning life at every corner to ensure we are acting in a way that is mutually beneficial to both the universe and to ourselves.&nbsp;

Having burst into our consciousness with Malamente and Piensu En Tu Mira, Flamenco-pop queen Rosalía moves from her collaboration with UKMVAs&#39; Best Directors CANADA to Henry Scholfield, the Best Pop Video UK winner of the past two years,&nbsp;for her stunning third video...And after <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/07/31/rosal%C3%ADa-malamente-cap1-augurio-canada/54330" target="_blank">Augurio</a> and <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/07/31/rosal%C3%ADa-pienso-en-tu-mir%C3%A1-cap3-celos-canada/54331" target="_blank">Celos</a>, we&#39;ve arrived at&nbsp;Éxtasis (or Ecstasy) for Di Mi Nombre, as we follow Rosalía on a pas de deux with the camera, recounting a story of a single sexual encounter, through its stages of passion, in a series of long take sequences. With Scholfield working with choreographer Charm La Donna, this is a journey through the&nbsp;spectrum of emotions - fantasy, doubt, lust &ndash; of&nbsp;un amor brujo&nbsp;(a bewitched love).it opens with a contemporary take on a controversial masterpiece - Goya&#39;s&nbsp;La Maja, which he painted twice, with the subject clothed in one,&nbsp;and nude in the other. Rosalía, on the bed that is focus of most of the action,&nbsp;is most certainly clothed here, and there&#39;s barely any flesh on show. But the sexuality, passion, and lust, is all there from start to finish. You just need to understand the language to fully appreciate it.Scholfield says: &ldquo;I&rsquo;d heard Rosalía&rsquo;s music back in January. I was enamoured by the raw, soulfulness of it and when we met it made sense. She&rsquo;s got a kind of deep river of emotion that runs through her, so for us it was just a case of finding the way to dip into it and translate it to screen.&rdquo;

Die Antwoord&#39;s latest video is another boundary-pusher by the South African rave-rap group -&nbsp;directed by the band&#39;s Ninja from a story conceived by him with bandmate (and wife) Yolandi Visser &ndash;&nbsp;that skewers&nbsp;America&#39;s made possible by the work of LA-based visual effects studio JAMM.Shot in Detroit, the video for Alien features Yolandi as a hoodie-wearing, insect-resembling alien. As she walks through a gritty and starkly real world, her non-citizen status denies her service at a diner, forcing her to trawl the streets alone.Amidst the bleak background, a glowing centipede-like creature encircles the alien girl. She catches it, and eats it &ndash; ravenously &ndash; tearing into its carcass and gooey entrails. A metamorphosis begins, as a webbed cocoon begins to grow and glow around the entire shape of her body. The process becomes even more gorgeously realized through another transformation from unreal to real, as a second creature breaks through the cocoon. Emerging through the webbing, a human girl is revealed (played by Sixteen Jones, Ninja and Yolandi&rsquo;s real-life daughter.)Ninja&#39;s typically idiosyncratic parody on attitudes towards outsiders and migrants came out of his own sense of otherness that Die Antwoord felt when they came to the United States. He was introduced to JAMM by editor Leo Scott, his goal&nbsp;for the VFX was to create something never-before-seen yet authentic-feeling, a creature transformation which could exist within the pages of National Geographic.&ldquo;Ninja has such a strong vision,&rdquo; says Andy Boyd, VFX Supervisor at JAMM. &ldquo;He knows exactly how he wants something to look, and he works with you to get there and get it onto the screen.&rdquo;References from the natural world - moths, plants, coral and growing mushrooms - were interpreted to create the cocoon-like formation. JAMM made a custom digital mould that could evolve, with thin threads of webbing that would grow down the contour of her body. As the webbing grows, there is a physicality to it that grows denser and denser.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;We&#39;re used to doing complex creature work... the cocoon was a new type of challenge,&rdquo; says CG artist Zak DiMaria, who led the JAMM team through the cocoon FX simulation, the most challenging aspect of the VFX process. &ldquo;It was important to Ninja that the cocoon looked very real, but also unlike anything people had seen before. We based the material of the cocoon on different moulds and fungi to ground it in reality. Then we simulated it and allowed it to evolve and grow on its own into a very detailed and beautiful structure.&rdquo; Another exciting aspect for this project was creating a photorealistic centipede with the wings of a damselfly, explains animation supervisor Stew Burris. &ldquo;Ninja had a clear idea in his mind of how this creature should move and behave. He didn&#39;t want it to look too Tinkerbell or Fairy-like. Because this creature does not exist in nature, I used a combination of damselfly and centipede references to find a believable middle ground. These are the types of challenges I truly enjoy as an animator.&rdquo; Additionally, JAMM created the CG opening titles featuring the neon-lit insect encircling the Die Antwoord logo and song title. The sequence sets the mood for the entire film, a bizarre visual feast enhanced by JAMM&rsquo;s attention to detail, from the creation of the centipede&rsquo;s glowing internal organs to the delicate webbing of the cocoon.

Die Antwoord&#39;s latest is another in a long line of no-holds-barred NSFW artistic assaults on the senses &ndash; this time directed by singer Yolandi Visser.Heavily influenced, as always, by the work of photographer Roger Ballen (who has directed videos for them in the past, and shows up here as an co-art director with DA&#39;s Ninja) the black and white performance clip takes hip-hop and Zef culture to a heavily stylised extreme, with graffiti covering every square inch of set, costume and human flesh.It wouldn&#39;t be a Die Antwoord video without a heavy helping of occult imagery, and fortunately there&#39;s plenty here to go around.&nbsp;

Simon Cahn has transplanted Japanese kawaii culture into Mexico in this original video for French artist&nbsp;Breakbot&#39;s track&nbsp;2GOOD4ME.It captures the fast paced&nbsp;day-in-a-life of a young, defiant&nbsp;Lolita living in Tijuana, as&nbsp;she walks her brother to school, has a picnic with other Japanophiles, and heads to a club in&nbsp;the back of a lustful boy&#39;s truck. The video&nbsp;paints&nbsp;a portrait of&nbsp;present-day urban youth, and ends with a surreal flourish&nbsp;as the girl hovers&nbsp;over the city on her walk back home.&nbsp;Upon the video&#39;s release,&nbsp;Cahn explained to&nbsp;<a href="http://www.dazeddigital.com/music/article/29289/1/watch-breakbot-s-trippy-ode-to-japanese-subculture-in-mexico" target="_blank">Dazed</a>:&nbsp;&ldquo;The link between Mexican and Japanese culture is weirdly very strong in Mexico. All the characters are real people from Tijuana and non-professional actors.&ldquo;The video, for me, is like the 24-hour rollercoaster of emotions of a young woman; travelling abruptly from comedy to anger, from joy to pain etc. Working with a non-classic narration, I wanted to embody all these different emotions with the structure of the video echoing the feelings of someone intoxicated.&quot;

Rod (who has looked after himself)&nbsp;makes a brief appearance too, and Mark Ronson, as this whirlwind of scenes of partying, drugs and girls reveals present-day Rocky in all his current gorgeousness.There&#39;s a&nbsp;&#39;money can&#39;t buy&nbsp;happiness&#39;&nbsp;message in there somewhere, but Rocky still comes out as more of a carpe diem&nbsp;type of guy...&nbsp;

Alison Mosshart walks down the barrel of&nbsp;a Big Wind in the&nbsp;video for I Feel Love (Every Million Miles) directed by Ian &amp; Cooper, marking the return of The Dead Weather, Mosshart&#39;s project with Jack White.Just when she&#39;s making some progress - and the visuals change from&nbsp;black and white to colour &ndash; she&#39;s&nbsp;thrown back to where she started,&nbsp;and back to monochrome.&nbsp;A not-too-subtle metaphor, but Mosshart is marvellous in this, from start to finish, the embodiment of the battered but unbowed&nbsp;rock &#39;n roll heroine.&nbsp;Certainly no need&nbsp;for&nbsp;Jack to appear&nbsp;- apart from the whirlwind blues of his guitar on the soundtrack, of course. &nbsp;

Having directed music videos for Kanye West, The Shoes and Citizens! be certain that this duo&nbsp;are the real&nbsp;deal.And who knew Yoann Lemoine could possibly have the time to creative direct Pharrell&#39;s gigantic career while also being&nbsp;Woodkid? Fresh from&nbsp;releasing footage from his live tour, Yoann his hand in this massive project. Not content with the&nbsp;Despicable Me 2 version, the pair clearly believed something else&nbsp;twas needed&nbsp;that would grab the world&#39;s attention.The final touch, and every great idea has one,&nbsp;is creating a catchy condensed version that makes the impractical, practical. Raconteur of the surreal, Andreas Nilsson, lends his rather unique hands to the big French House music of David Guetta and from the very outset you can tell this story isn&rsquo;t heading a gritty, realist direction. Queue a vast array of colourful characters and outfits all taking part in the technicolour Dance Rodeo you&rsquo;ve never imagined you&rsquo;d see. Pyrotechnics, alternative beauty pageants and some fantastic dancing all feature &ndash; together with David, Ne-Yo and Akon (probably wondering what the hell they&rsquo;ve got themselves into).
The real question is whether this video is simply a front to start a new trend with bizarre long toed cowboy boots. We&rsquo;ll presume for the moment that Andreas holds the monopoly on those.
