David Knight - 3rd Aug 2016
There’s only two days left from today (August 3rd) to enter work into the UK Music Video Awards 2016 – the premiere awards show for music video creativity in Britain and beyond, and the big party of the year for UK music videos.Â
This includes eight Technical Achievement awards which will honour the creativity and technical prowess of individuals working on a specific music video, celebrating the art and craft on show in specific departments. Here are the categories:Â
Best Animation in a video
Best Cinematography in a video
Best Choreography in a video
Best Colour Grade in a video
Best Editing in a video
Best Production Design in a video
Best Styling in a video
Best Visual Effects in a video
Each entered video must have been completed and delivered to the commissioning company between August 1st 2015 and July 31st 2016. More information about these categories, and a full rundown of all the categories to enter before the entry deadline this Friday, August 5th - can be found at the UKMVA website.Â
To enter the awards go to the awards entry page at the UKMVAs website, and then follow the entry process. The cost is £70 + VAT per video per category.Â
Judging for this year’s UKMVAs will begin shortly after the entry deadline, and the first round of online judging will run through the rest of August. Invitations have been sent out to hundreds of members of the music video-making community in the UK and further afield, to become Jury Members in the first round. A second round of judging will follow in early September.
The UK Music Video Awards 2016 will take place for the second year running at the legendary Roundhouse in London on Thursday October 20th 2016. Ticket information for the biggest night of the year for music video is coming soon.
