UK Music Video Awards 2011 UPDATE: four days left to entry deadline – including eight Technical Achievement awards!
David Knight - 16th Aug 2011
There's just four days left to enter work in most of the awards categories at the UK Music Video Awards 2011 - the premiere awards show for music video creativity in Britain and beyond, and the big party of the year for UK music videos.
This includes eight Technical Achievement awards which will honour the creativity and technical prowess of individuals working on a specific music video made in the past year. At least one of those listed on the entry form as potential recipients must be British, or the video itself must be a UK-commissioned work.
The Technical Achievement awards include a brand new MVA award - for best choreography in a video. Here are all the categories:
Best Animation in a video
Best Art Direction & Design in a video
Best Cinematography in a video
Best Choreography in a video
Best Editing in a video
Best Styling in a video
Best Telecine in a video
Best Visual Effects in a video
Among the entries so far received, work in art direction & design, choreography, styling and visual effects are less well represented so far, so make sure that outstanding work in these areas of expertise has been entered for the MVA judges' consideration before the deadline this Friday.
To enter work go to ukmva.com, and then follow the simple entry process on the website. Terms and conditions can also be found there.
Judging for the UK MVAs 11 begins shortly after the entry deadline. The UK Music Video Awards 2011 takes place at the Empire Leicester Square on November 8th. Tickets are now on sale for the show at the website.
