BUG Royksopp: their greatest videos – and the best of Röyksopp Senior video competition…
David Knight - 15th Feb 2011
A great night was had last Friday (Feb 11th) at the BFI Southbank with a BUG special on Royksopp, with host Adam Buxton introducing their greatest music videos - including H5's Remind Me, Martin De Thurah's What Else Is There, Sam Arthur's Poor Leno and Andreas Nilsson's This Must Be It - and Adam also talking to Röyksopp's Svein Berge and Torbjörn Brundtland and their video commissioner John Moule about their outstanding visual output.
But it wasn't just a retrospective, as the very best work from the band's recent music video competition based around their latest album Senior was also screened. Towards the end of last year Röyksopp invited filmmakers to create videos for any track from the all-instrumental Senior via the dedicated music video competition website Genero.tv.
Over 150 videos for the nine tracks of Senior were entered into the Genero competition by the mid-January deadline - and here are some of BUG's favourites, some of the winners and the overall winning video selected by Svein and Torbjörn.
