James Killeen directs an affecting promo for Manchester rapper RJ, for a track addressed to a friend and fellow rapper, Josh Ryan Stubbs, who recently passed away. The video for What's Good Bro? is a dramatisation of RJ's preparation to attend a funeral: getting dressed in a suit, then driving to the service. Throughout his emotions are running high and this personal turmoil leads him to stop the car in a country lane on the way to the funeral. At this point, a symbol of hope and beauty is introduced into his painful reality - a sign that the spirit of his late friend lives on. James Killeen does an excellent job here, focussing on getting a powerful performance from the artist, maximising the emotional pull of the lyrics, tackling the difficult subject of grief but also ending on a note of closure. "In May 2023, we lost a very special man, the most talented artist my area has ever produced," RJ has commented about Josh. "I wanted to pay my respects through lyrics in some way... one day, these words came to my mind, and I wrote them down."On the first anniversary of his passing, I had the privilege to perform this track for the first time in front of his closest family and friends at a memorial event. After I'd finished, I asked the people there... if they wanted me to release it properly and hopefully contribute to extending the memory of Josh. They told me to get it out!"In memory of Josh Ryan Stubbs."
