Charles Gall directs a glitchy analogue promo for Solomun's remix of Purple Disco Machine, NBT & Duke Dumont's Something On My Mind. The aesthetic is like VHS on acid, with defective textures and patterns which melt into trippy lo-fi footage of a mysterious woman. A complete cacophony of clashing visual elements, which suit the experimental electronic sounds in the remix and boast a sense of retrofuturistic nostalgia.

Andrew Thomas Huang returns to music videos with a beautifully crafted promo and a thrilling shift in visual style for multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer and vocalist Alexandra Drewchin - aka Eartheater. Boasting a late 90's aesthetic, with the sensibility of cosmetics and fragrance commercials of the period, the visual for Crushing sees the artist explore a decadent mirrored room, interspersed with unique performance vignettes. Snapshots of a narrative - which involve the artist form glassware, drink from it and then shatter it with her voice - adds to the considerably alluring atmosphere. Huang captures the laidback, transcendent feel of the track, and with the camera constantly moving, never quite revealing a single portrait of Eartheater until late in the piece, the video maintains its sense of mystery and excitement throughout. Video screens of HD footage of Eartheater, video frames within frames, and terrific stylised cinematography by Laura Merians Goncalves eightens this feeling of otherworldliness.It's visually breathtaking, as one would expect from this masterful director, but also a real departure from his previous work. It's also confident enough to end the piece with a section of BTS video revealing a moment in its making. That simply adds to the magic.

Following his videos for Plages Des Casernes and La Mission Commence, Peter Haueis continues his cinematic music video narrative for Felix Müller, aka The Offline.The video for Un Bout De Chemin is inspired by 1980's American indie films, and dives into another fragment of the composer's journey, raising the question as to whether he is on permanent vacation or troubled by demons which lurk around every corner. In the concept, The Offline arrives by boat in the port of Hamburg and wanders around the city's infamous St. Pauli district. He is confronted by a gambling deadline as he searches for a better place - a vicious encounter from which he escapes to find his own rhythm while dancing on the rooftops of the city. "Un bout de chemin, which means something like a bit of a journey, felt right for the rolling rhythm and the driven cello, but also in terms of the dramatic structure of the track," explains Müller. "For me it felt like someone is pursuing a goal and this track tells a part of the journey. The name came about when I had the order of the album ready.” The video encompasses that feeling, proposing a story that feels strangely offbeat, as if 'fallen out of time' as they say in Germany. Another terrific, stirring visual collaboration between Müller and Haueis.

Nothing But Thieves frontman Conor Mason preaches to an empty derelict room, backdropped by mysterious symbols and iconography, in Sam Bailey's enigmatic video for Tomorrow Is Closed. Mason interacts with empty space as if real people are there watching, and only after inhaling a mysterious gas do we see more characters appear, in a dark, otherworldly realm.With a post-apocalyptic vibe and a gritty, raw aesthetic, the video raises plenty of questions and answers only some of them. It leaves things open for a follow-up or simply presents an opportunity for viewers to impart their own ideas onto the concept.Mason embodies the main character perfectly, lending an emotional, erratic persona to the role, and the contrast of light and dark encapsulates the mysterious themes.
