Elton John's classic 1972 track finally has an official music video. Majid Adin and Stephen McNally bring you a film of urgent humanity and personal longing. It draws on Majid’s personal experience as a refugee after fleeing his native Iran, travelling across Europe, spending time in the infamous Calais jungle and successfully securing asylum here in the UK.This long-awaited official music was commissioned as part of THE CUT - a global competition in collaboration with YouTube to celebrate the 50 year hit-making partnership of Elton John and Bernie Taupin.Majid’s treatment was chosen above entries from 50 different countries by a selection committee comprising illustrious talents Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins, Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and PES. Rocket Man and the other two videos commissioned in the competition, for Bennie and the Jets & Tiny Dancer premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

After his very impressive video for M83's Moonchild, Richard Paris Wilson has teamed with Tommy Nagle as We Are Cowboys to create another, equally impressive M83 video, for Intro. We're taken us into the dystopian existence of a young man, trapped in his apartment and under constant surveillance, and with the mundane yet ominous job of processing 'organ procurements'. But ultimately, this worm is for turning...We Are Cowboys do a very fine job creating this sci-fi version of 1984, from the art direction to the visual effects. Hard to believe this was another entry into M83's video competition on Genero.tv. - but not surprising that like Richard's Moonchild video, this has also been nominated for the platform's 2013 music video of the year.

To celebrate Queen's 40th Anniversary, the band are inviting filmmakers to create a video for their 1977 song Sheer Heart Attack. Organised via Talenthouse, the competition is aimed at existing filmmakers and 'videographers', with participants invited to submit showreels showcasing their talent for the chance to be selected as a finalist, who will then be provided with the video of performance of Sheer Heart Attack in the 'Queen on Fire Live at the Bowl' film, to cut together, use as stop animation and work with their own original footage if desired. Participants will be encouraged to use their own work to create a wholly original piece of work. Sheer Heart Attack, although originally intended for the early 70s album of the same name, was actually included on the 1977 album News Of The World. The winning submission will be used as a music video and featured across Queen's social media channels. This will be the first original Queen video since 'Under Pressure' in 1999.
