Emile Moutaud directs a mesmerising promo for Blondshell - aka singer-songwriter Sabrina Mae Teitelbaum - capturing a female diver's internal struggle. The video for Event Of A Fire takes place in a swimming pool and locker room, where the lead character, played by up-and-coming actress Ghjuvanna Benedetti, is one of several young women divers - but as a junior member of the group, lacking the easy confidence of her peers.Interweaving moments of introspection with spectacular shots of other girls' diving - and a vantage point from the bottom of the pool - the video explores the tension between the main character's emotional turmoil and the routine of her craft and performance.Thought-provoking, still and meditative, it's the kind of video that transports you to another world, another body, and allows you to experience life through someone else's eyes for a few minutes. It also dovetails beautifully with the brooding introspection of the song - and that's complemented by brief appearances by Blondshell at the poolside, in wide shot like an outside observer. Lovely work by Moutaud, a director and photographer whose previous work includes the prizewinning promo for Andrew Savage's Elvis In The Army.
