Gabriel Purvis and Ed Hubbard direct a stylish, nostalgic video for jazz-pop duo Fonda. In a series of composed tableaux that could be borrowed from old Hollywood, the video for Envy frames singer Molly Graham (who together with Dominic Walker is Fonda) as a wannabe glamorous femme fatale, attempting capture her boyfriend's attention - she wants to generate the envy that she herself feels. However, the glossy, dreamy scenes by the pool and in a swish bar start to come apart at the edges with dramatic flair. Envy, it seems, can't be manufactured. A fun and effective introduction to the retro charm of Fonda.

It's well worth celebrating a good comeback, and Ducasse's choice to focus on pure performance - with polished cinematography and a cinematic aesthetic courtey of DoP Jed Darlington-Roberts - helps to reintroduce Blue to fans both old and new.
