Ben Miethke directs a compelling visual for Moderat's Fast Land, exploring a state of humanity facing an unknown future. The video presents a series of seemingly disjointed vignettes, which are tied together by the concept of humanity, and our place in the world we live in. These well-crafted scenes combine to create a real sense of unease and forboding. The concept attempts to strike a balance between alienated and natural human moments, between the macro and micro of what the human existence constitutes. It’s a reflection on an advancing urgency that defines our reality, which is triggered by accelerated technological advances. The reflective, often disconcerting imagery brilliantly encapsulates the emotion of feeling out of place and out of touch with one's existence and place in society, and the vignettes, shifting styles of cinematography and VFX elevates this mood.
