We've all been there - breakfast with the parents, as the environment slowly slips into a nightmarish hellscape with demons and horse-headed strangers eating your food...Oh, you haven't? Well, Amber Van Day has, and let's just say things only get weirder from there, in Jamie Neal's video for Bug Eyes. The video is an exciting, evocative feat, with brilliant art direction and a peppering of fun visual effects. A great match to the otherworldly track, climaxing in a thought-provoking ending has Amber questioning her reality.

Mónica G. Carter directs a blue-hued Nineties-influenced promo for up and coming R&B singer Essosa.Successfully channelling the classic Hype Williams style in his music video directing pomp, the video for Waste My Time lives in an anachronistic space, blending retrofuturism with thrilling dance sequences, and centred around Essosa's absorbing performance. And the director says it was her intention for the video to feel timeless."I took inspiration from late 90s / early 2000s R&B/pop videos and mixed in a modern-minimalistic-futuristic feel," says Carter. "I wanted to make the viewer feel like they were traveling in time but not knowing whether they were traveling backwards or forwards: nostalgia colliding with avant-guard."We didn’t shy away from simplicity, on the contrary we leaned into it, ensuring that each department collaborated together to create something that felt uniform and exciting: From the cinematography, to the art design (betting on the monochromatic blue colour pallet), to the amazing choreography/ performance. I wanted to give the audience space to meditate, to feel Essosa’s captivating music."

Taz Tron Delix directs the ethereal promo for Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding's collab on Miracle. The otherworldly video is inspired by the Nineties-style trance elements in the track, exploring a futuristic clash of desert landscapes, anachronistic styling and mysterious movement, revitalising and contemporising the transcendent aesthetics that were born out of the original movement. The video cuts between Ellie wearing a jewelry filled tiara and leather outfit with the look of a powerful Queen on an elevated platform surrounded by what appears to be worshippers in sleek beige suits and balaclavas. The track progresses they march in a strong manner, break-out dancing and wave their hands towards Ellie in a worshiping stance.We then witness different groups of people embracing one another mostly in masks, helmets faces covered, buried in sand, twisting through colourful smoke creating a mysterious tone.Blending a whole host of unusual elements into an oneiric experience, it really is a visual feat that demands your full attention, and elevates the track to a whole new artistic plane.

Lauzza and Bawo link up once again, this time with help from Reek0, to remind us to check in on our friends as much as our inboxes. The video for Same Team encapsulates the monotonous 9-5 office environment, and sees Bawo, Reek0 and a handful of office characters drudging away at their desks, counting down the minutes till they can get a break. Incorporating 90's computer technology, anachronistic art direction and a flurry of dynamic visual effects (including some cool reverse desktop overlays), it's another hit for Lauzza and team, and a perfect complement to the track.
