Grian Chatten dispenses with his green tracksuit, but there's still a strong sense of the uncanny, in the video by music video directing legend Dave Meyers and up-and-coming director Cam Erickson for Marianne,  heralding the new Fontaines D.C. album.

It's just more lurid, surreal and, frankly, even more off-the-wall than anything they have done before. Desire and paranoia meet at a neon-drenched house party where boundaries between reality from fantasy are eradicated. And the eponymous Marianne... is she real at all?

It feels like a step-change for the band, a real statement - and with a creative use of AI that is running against the grain. But with the familiar persona of Chatten at the centre of everything, it is still very Fontaines.
