Grace Davies 'Just A Girl' by Kate Cox
Kate Cox created and remotely directed the video for Grace Davies's Just A Girl, featuring Grace and a trio of her girlfriends enjoying some serious makeover and self-love time at their respective homes during lockdown.
KATE COX:
"When lockdown happened around the time we were due to shoot Just A Girl we stepped into uncharted territory of remote shooting. With us all feeling confined and creatively frustrated JAG became a call to prayer for me, nurturing my talent and teasing out [the cast's] personalities through styling and character play to show the multi-faceted nature of being a woman today.
"Grace had Sakeema (choreographer) and I jumping in our Zoom call seats at how she smashed the choreography, breaking through the pink curtains with the sass of true Queen!
"I felt a little like Ash from Alien being taken around the talent houses via a laptop propped up on books or squeezed into a corner between the sink and toilet! About as glamorous as a normal shoot so nothing new there!"
