JNR Williams 'Us In Major' by Fenn O’Meally
Fenn O'Meally directs an intimate portrait and celebration of black Afro-Caribbean culture in JNR Williams's new video for Us In Major.
Consisting of vignettes focused on a series of people of different ages and backgrounds, each shot is composed as if a photographic portrait, with lots of eye contact with the camera and groups posing in unison. Moments of joy and candid laughter are interspersed with more serious scenes, creating a balanced and honest view of the life experience they are all sharing.
Shot by Olan Collardy, the naturalistic lighting and colour palettes are raw and engaging, and it's a beautiful visual to match the thought-provoking track.
