A moment of connection on a train opens a fantasy space where the alchemy of dance changes a young woman, in Nick Middleton's charming video for American singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop's Shoulder Charge.

Taken from Hoop's sixth studio album Stonechild, the video focuses on self-image, finding ourselves in others, and being seen. Karim Andreotti's cinematography is hazy and washed-out, yet nostalgic. It helps the visual feel universal and poignant.

An intimate and vulnerable performance from Jesca builds upon these themes, and gives the project an emotional grounding amongst the fantasy narrative.
