Summer is coming. And Casper Balslev's film Summer - Document, captures the very essence of the season, as it happened for the youth of Denmark in the long hot summer of 2018, with original music from Simon Littaur providing the soundtrack.

From teens swimming at the lake, mosh-diving metal fans at a festival, boys and girls on motorbikes, friends at the fairground, Balslev focusses on the faces, the sights and sounds of suburbia and the countryside.

Inspired by old travelogue and newsreel films from the 1940s and '50s, this is his document of the time, shot all over Denmark last summer, and as such Balslev has created something very special from the everyday.
