Marcus Miller X Selah Sue 'Que Sera Sera' by Samuel Rixon
Promo News - 30th Oct 2018
In Samuel Rixon's video, a very soulful performance of the midcentury standard Que Sera Sera by Marcus Miller - one of the world's great bass players - and Selah Sue is intercut with portraits of everyday people in Southern California.
And as the video progresses the serious, solid nature of the portraits dissolves into something lighter, less formal and more joyful. Slowly the faces begin to reflect the resounding message of the song: "Que sera sera - whatever will be, will be."
SAMUEL RIXON:
"The song we are dealing with here, is fatalistic but full of hope. Life is sometimes hard, but we shouldn’t be worried cause whatever needs to happen will happen - Murphy’s law told in an optimistic way. It is not in our hands and we should enjoy life as it comes."
