There's something very uplifting about this video for Matthew Urango aka Cola Boyy, directed by renowned photographer David Luraschi.

They take us on a whistle-stop tour of Cola Boyy's hometown of Oxnard, California, to meet some of the residents. A portrait of real folk, framed through the lens of an iPhone, where Urango and the offbeat disco stylings of Penny Girl are right at home.

The artist, self-conscious about his appearance, reveals that he didn't always feel so comfortable with others. But this is the start of something better.

"Walking out the door, I jump into the eyes that judge me. They do not ask about my emotions, my touch or my whisper. Can you believe they are millions of me? I stand in front of you speaking for all of those who are different, yet so likened to me. And to the world I thought wouldn’t accept me, the people I was so sure I hated... I was wrong. All power to the people. With love & rage..."
