Mastodon 'Clandestiny' by Ariel Costa/blinkmybrain
David Knight - 30th Apr 2018
Beautiful stop motion/collage animation utilising mid-century sci-fi imagery is used to tell a classic story of technology gone mad in Ariel Costa's breathless, rip-roaring video for peerless heavy rockers Mastodon.
Frankly, it's quite bonkers.
ARIEL COSTA:
"Men have a desire to conquer, to have money and power - to achieve that, men create technology, weaponry and everything they can without thinking about the consequences. Men’s failure is not allowed. What Men don’t realize is that they are creating a monster. Men will become a victim of their acts.
"Clandestiny creates a version of The Terminator but based in the past. Stylistically, the video is a nod to old great SciFi posters and art from the 1950's & 1960's."
