Every Time I Die 'Map Change' by Kyle Thrash
New York-based director Kyle Thrash travelled to Buffalo, upstate New York last winter, to make this video for veteran metalcore band Every Time I Die - an astonishing document of the hard-bitten reality of life in the band's hometown.
Like his superb video last year for Microwave, Thrash builds a unflinching, non-judgemental portrait of the place in his post-industrial bleakness and its people who are struggling to survive and cope, with the skill of a great street photographer. As it progresses the images become if anything more powerful. It's outstanding work.
