Ezi Emela 'Chineke Meh' by Labi Odebunmi
David Knight - 14th Feb 2017
Labi Odebunmi directs Nigerian pop star Ezi Emela's Chineke Meh - an expression meaning 'Oh My God' - in a series of set-ups that reflect different aspects of Africa.
It's a slick, impressively art directed production, with sultry Ezi emerging out of the jungle and dancing in shallow water - all sets created from scratch in a London studio.
"I wanted to play with an image system of nature – grass, sea/water and sun – to visually communicate a show of beauty with voyeuristic strands and pockets of modern Africa," says Odebunmi.
