Vant 'Peace & Love' by Tom Gorst
Luke Bather - 25th Oct 2016
Tom Gorst explores youth affected by conflict in this video portrait for Vant. Shot in Kiev and Amman in October 2016, and interwoven with footage from conflict taken by the cast themselves, this video explores two groups of young people and their attempts to live a life overshadowed by war.
The documentary style and mixture of formats makes for an engrossing viewing experience - with some truly incredible scenery and the potential for seemingly thousands of stories to be told with every frame.
TOM GORST:
"This video is a portrait of two groups of young people for whom 'Peace & Love' is something they have fought adamantly to protect.
"From Jordan, a country in the Middle East encompassed by war that hosts millions of refugees, to Ukraine, a country in Europe that has seen some of the greatest atrocities in recent history, this is the story of the young people at the centre of it all, making a positive future for themselves.
"Spending time with these characters, this video was shot doc-style by a core crew of three.
It was such an adventure and it was incredible for the label to put so much trust in us!"
