Lucy Spraggan 'Dear You' by Damien Reeves & Lucy Spraggan
Luke Bather - 15th July 2016
Starring Thomas Turgoose (This Is England), we follow the story of a man on the verge of breakdown, longing to reacquaint with an old friend. As the story gets darker and the letters he writes get more desperate, we learn the fate of his friend in an emotional twist.
Damien Reeves and singer Lucy Spraggan, who co-directed, weave a tale that's interwoven tightly with the song's lyrics. Taking cues from British social realist cinema of the past ten years, the viewer is lead on an emotional journey – yet we barely leave the protagonist's house. Those hoping for a happy ending here will be disappointed - but that is the nature of the genre.
