Koven 'Get This Right' by Kristian Young - now signed to Burning Reel
Here's a video to bookmark in your holiday destinations folder. Kristian Young, newly-signed to Burning Reel, has shot Koven's uplifting D&B track Get This Right set amongst the beautiful landscapes of Croatia, with Koven's vocal performance alongside shots of a solitary man blazing a trail before reaching the summit of a mountain, and taking in a jawdropping view of the sprawling coastline.
"Creatively this was an opportunity to tell the story of someone who had grown up in total isolation. I was really intrigued by the idea of survival and being completely alone, so when we were scouting potential locations we were really excited to come across Croatia. It's so diverse, and with the help of our fixer we had five or six locations within an hour of each other that felt like they were continents away from each other.
"It was a really fun shooting process, because budget-wise I was self shooting the entire piece – something I'm more than used to with a documentary background. We were out in the baking thirty-four degree heat, with a super light crew, and a really enthusiastic band and cast. The whole thing was really fluid, meaning we could see what we liked and capture it instantly.
"I think the piece is helped massively by Croatia as a character too. Anywhere we pointed the camera, especially when we hiked up high, blew us away, time and time again."
