Circa Waves 'T-Shirt Weather' by Charles De Meyer
Last year, directly after signing to Burning Reel, Charles De Meyer directed his first Circa Waves video, for So Long. This time around, he has paired up with the Liverpudlian indie-rockers for their track T-Shirt Weather. The video, a colourful concept performance piece, executes a simple idea remarkably well.
Shot by Jon Iles, it captures the nostalgic theme of the song as the band plays on a giant, revolving slide-carousel as vintage home movies are projected onto the scene. Revolving in space, the band gives a frenzied, high-energy performance, in and out of the paths of projected light, resulting in an array of fantastic, glowing silhouettes and prismatic broken beams.
In keeping with Circa Waves's energetic indie-rock beat, the video's edit (by Charles himself) is welcomely frenetic, keeping the viewer engaged till the end.
