Talos 'Bloom' by Feel Good Lost
Jimmy Brown - 28th Nov 2014
Brendan Canty and Conal Thomson's (Feel Good Lost) engrossing promo for Talos' Bloom follows their earlier work for the band's Tethered Bones which centred around a kidnapped girl and her emotional attachment to her kidnapper.
The narrative for this new video is a few years on in the story which shows the girl - played once again by Alexandra Carlos - psychologically scarred and battling the demons of her past...
FEEL GOOD LOST:
"The song is essentially about change and how we're all, in a weird way, kind of terrified of it and the idea of someone changing and morphing into something a lot darker. Although free from the clutches of her kidnapper she is still trapped in side, and this mentally drives her into darker places.
"The setting was perfect. A large, old estate house in the outskirts of Cork City. The house was beautifully intact and the surrounding gardens were filled with beautifully giant old trees. The weather was also perfect, totally hitting the mood we were trying to conjure up.
"The performances had to be strong and London-based Irish actress Alexandra Carlos Cox gave such a powerful and emotionally engaging performance. Eoin French (Talos) also gave a brilliantly powerful performance alongside her. These were crucial to the power of the piece."
