Cash + David 'Funn' by James Willis
James Willis conjures up and dance-off between a couple of musical greats in his video for Cash + David's Funn.
Who are the greats? The clue is in the name of the band. The reason why the video is very good is in the classy execution - styling, photography and of course choreography is bang-on in James's absorbing promo.
James Willis: "The idea for Funn was to represent the band’s name CASH + DAVID in a playful fashion. Set in a dark abstract space and shot entirely in black & white we join two musical icons Johnny CASH and DAVID Bowie as they thrash it out in a contemporary dance off.
"The controlled chaos of the song is channelled into the dance-off. As the video plays out, the two impersonators get more aggressive, more interlocked. These two celebrated musicians combine in explosive effect.
"I wanted this video to feel like you were peering backstage at a Grammy Awards held 20 years back when all the nominees really, really cared about winning. Things get ugly."
