The Director/DOP duo known as Fenixx - that's the two Matthews, Connell and Hoare – were last seen here with their ‘gross out’ video for Creatures of Love's Sutra Sweat. But this time have come back with a more, gritty and old school video vibe with this straightahead performance promo for Young Romance's Pale - a band championed by BBC 6 Music's Steve 'Lammy' Lamaq.

“When we got hold of this track it instantly hit us with what kind of a look this promo deserves. Claire's smooth vocals and Paolo's crisp sounding guitars instantly put vintage look into my head, and the energy of the track certainly packed a punch for a vibrant two minutes.”

"As far as the styling for the video the duo went for a throwback of looks, and tried to compliment the song with an old VHS feel. We wanted to test our styles and see what we could do differently with this as a performance video.

"Matthew Connell gathered royalty-free stock footage and edited together a sequence that was projected onto the band during the performance. Then to add to the vintage and almost glitchy look, Matthew Hoare played the finished sequence through a an old Sony Trinitron CRT Monitor from the 80's and filmed the monitors screen, to seal the look and resulting in the finished product."
