Revolverheld 'Ich lass für Dich das Licht an' by Paul Gerwien
David Knight - 15th Jan 2014
Maybe we should've waited until Valentine's Day to post this. The fact is that despite the likely language barrier, this video for German band Revolverheld directed by Paul Gerwien is almost ridiculously affecting and emotional. And very romantic indeed.
Revolverheld's live performance of the song Ich lass für Dich das Licht an (which translates as "I'll leave the light on for you") becomes a very special event for a couple - organised by the guy to provide the spine-tingling soundtrack to his proposal of marriage to the girl. And this isn't dramatized - it's done for real. So quite probably the first genuine marriage proposal captured in a music video. Unless you're a total monster, you'll need a hankie.
