Kat Krazy 'Siren' by Edward Drake
For his plaintive and atmospheric Siren track - a recent success in Canada and USA - British producer/mixer Ben Preston (aka Kat Krazy) enlisted Edward Drake for the promo.
With Ben seeking a narrative-based promo to accompany the big sounds in the soundtrack, Edward shot the video in Los Angeles and Malibu documenting a 'bittersweet break in the cycle of recurrence for a young woman seeking a more ethereal end than the one intended for her'.
"When I first head the song, the kinetic - almost brooding - tonal changes throughout it were the big draw. The EDM sphere is so crowded with music that sounds the same, and in spite of this, Ben (Kat Krazy) managed to craft an emotionally interesting track which resonates through that noise.
"Production was pretty straight forward, and I really feel this was one of the first times I've felt that synergy where everyone on set was working towards bringing to life the same vision. Ben wanted something relatable but also grand and sprawling, and I'm so excited that it's been received as well as it has.
"He's looking to collaborate again on another single, and he's definitely one of the most exciting voices in the genre today."
