In their first video, Matthew Connell and Matthew Hoare - the creative duo behind Fenixx Productions – overcame severe budgetary limitations with a one-take 'in the round' performance video at Twickenham Studios for Kid Champion. This time, on an equally minuscule budget, they have made something quite different for Creatures Of Love's Sutra Sweat: a surreal gross-out, featuring a heavily tattooed chap (the daunting 'Big-e O.g Poppa') demolishing all kinds of food presented to him in the woods, whilst running on a treadmill...

Matthew Connell: "We've always fantasised with doing a dream-like story-based video and moving away from doing our usual band performance videos. Fortunately for us guitarist Chris from 'Creatures of Love' presented his vision of a large guy eating fast food on a treadmill.

"Whilst me, Matthew Hoare and Chris sat together and threw ideas around in a cafe in Soho, I suggested we spin that idea into some kind of dream-like twist where our male character is in utter denial with the terrible food he eats while on this quest to good health. So all the nice looking food we see in the woods, his imagination, in real life is meant to be the trashy fast food that he indulges on.

"We sexed up the video a little bit with Bonita from the band; she thankfully said 'yes' to dressing up as a sexy maid, just to add to the surreality and fantasy of the video. There are all sorts of hidden meanings and touches that we just leave up to the viewers to spot and interpret.

"We shot the whole video in one day, in some random woods in Essex. The night before we picked up the treadmill via Gumtree, got some food in the morning from a local Tesco's as props and then we cracked on with the shoot!"
