Satellites 'Wasteland' by M-I-E
M-I-E have created a superb animated video for Satellites' Wasteland, telling an allegorical tale of artificial intelligence - and the importance of batteries.
Narratively, its all about a very special prototype robot that inadvertently creates the digital city around him, and also spawns a new bigger, stronger 2.0 robot series. Graphically its bright, colourful and geometric - which as Joe Marshall from M-I-E explains below, was derived from the artwork for the new Satellites album 02, and is also weaved into the story.
And it may lead you to reflect on our relationship with technology, and the companies that make the stuff.
M-I-E:
"The brief was quite defined and involved incorporating the very graphic key art, from the upcoming album “O2”. We also wanted to tell a thoughtful and touching story, reflecting the beautiful lyrics of the song. We recommend you go and buy the LP as soon as it’s out! It’s rather nice."
