Lawrence Rothman 'Montauk Fling' by Floria Sigismondi
Award-winning director Floria Sigismondi has announced the launch of her signature record label Mamaroma, an imprint set up as a platform for undiscovered new music and a home for musicians she loves.
First out of the trap is Montauk Fling by LA singer-songwriter Lawrence Rothman and accompanying the release is another delicious Sigismondi-directed promo, currently premiering on the influential Nowness channel.
Shot at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, the beautifully dark video centres around the maverick performance of dancers Bridgette Hackman and Linda Borini. Lawrence himself acts out a derranged Elizabeth Taylor-type character, after spending hours watching Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolfe and Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula.
Floria Sigismondi:
“In my years of music video directing I have come across a lot of undiscovered and simply amazing music made by my friends. The music of Lawrence Rothman has a dark cinematic feel, this is a great introduction for Mamorama."
