Chapel Club ‘Shy’ by Franklyn Banks
Jimmy Brown - 9th May 2013
Franklyn Banks shoots Chapel Club in a variety of disparate locations - at the foot of a bridge, in a dense forest, in a telephone kiosk, by a tower block - in his promo for their new single Shy.
"Chapel Club came to us looking for a video with a dry sense of humour" explains Franklyn. "So I came up with the idea of deconstructing the nature of shyness – the feelings of awkwardness, wanting to take refuge, feeling under scrutiny, stuttering etc – and turning these facets into a series of visual sight gags.
"It's always excellent to work with people who are up for really throwing themselves into an idea even when this involves blowing into teapots, stumbling round Thamesmead in the pissing rain or being locked in a massive trunk.
"The crew were amazing, big shouts to DOP Ben Fordesman & editor Chris Roebuck in particular for being such consistent streams of ideas and positivity".
