Cinnamon Chasers 'Lights' by Ferit Katipoğlu

For their impromptu rave-up in the woods, a group of youths go around Istanbul stealing lights - car headlamps, neon signs, streetlights, televisions... just about anything that emits light - in Ferit Katipo?lu's promo for Cinnamon Chasers' pulsing instrumental Lights.
Here the young Turkish filmmaker explains the production process: "The video was shot over eight days, with people from all around Europe joining in. All the shots, except for the party scene, were shot total guerilla-style in Istanbul in mid-winter - we didn't want to include any clichéd part of Istanbul, so no-one can really tell which city it is.
"The party had to be shot in a forest so we needed a good weather day. But the problem was getting 150 people in to a forest for a party in a weekday. In the end we got it after two delays. We actually made the party in the forest and placed almost no equipment in the area so no one would feel any filming is made. Everything was shot handeld. After a while hardly anyone noticed the camera so those beautiful smiles in the video are totally real.
"The video started with the idea of a tribal-disco gathering - and a funny fact is that we just asked Cinnamon Chasers about making a video directly via mail, without having any contacts, and the video got started real fast."
