Part one of Saman Keshavarz's thriller for Russ Chimes follows the breathless modus operandi of his award-winning debut for Cinnamon Chasers last year: a passionate relationship is overshadowed by crime and brutal violence, told in an imaginative story structure.

In this case there are two time sequences rapidly collapsing into each other - and a cliffhanger ending. Every inch a modern noir - and Part II - Tetre Rouge - is about to land.
