Clever Dublin-based directing team D.A.D.D.Y. - that's Mike Ahean and Enda Loughman - directed the new video for big Eire export The Script, then editing legend Tony Kearns cut it in his own back yard. It was even commissioned by a chap named O'Keefe.

And after the rooftop performance and the literal narrative, the shattering time-slice payoff comes as quite a surprise.

D.A.D.D.Y. on making the video for The Script's Talk You Down

"We were asked by The Script and Sony to write an idea for Talk You Down as they liked an idea we had for a previous video. We sent it off and thought no more of it, and hunched back over our computers in our cold studio, but just after Christmas they decided to go with it.

"It was our first promo with a 'bigger budget', and therefore to keep it real - i.e. ensure there was lots of pressure and nobody made any money - we threw everything into the mix from shooting on 35mm in LA to stunt driven car crashes to wire-work.

"The two night shoot was pretty intense, especially the first night when we shot the performance and the stunt sequences, and managed to almost squash a band member and total the hero car we needed for the next night.

"The Script boys were as sound as three pounds and were up for everything and seemed to enjoy the whole experience. We did too. In our day off we even managed to squeeze in a few hours shooting hand guns while on segways, got to be featured extras in the new season of Heroes and meet Cher.

"Back in cold Dublin, we edited with 'The Colonel' - Mr. Tony Kearns - and posted in Screen Scene. Props are due to Mike in Sony and especially Mary our producer who 'talked us down' on many occasions over the shoot.
