It leaves&nbsp;things open for a follow-up or simply presents an opportunity for viewers to impart their own ideas onto the concept.Mason embodies the main character perfectly, lending an emotional, erratic persona to the role, and the contrast of light and dark encapsulates the mysterious themes.

Taz Tron Delix directs the ethereal promo for Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding's collab on Miracle.&nbsp;The otherworldly video is inspired by the&nbsp;Nineties-style&nbsp;trance elements in the track, exploring&nbsp;a futuristic clash of desert landscapes, anachronistic styling and mysterious movement, revitalising and contemporising the transcendent aesthetics that were born out of the original movement.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The video cuts between Ellie wearing a jewelry filled tiara and leather outfit with the look of a powerful Queen on an elevated platform surrounded by what appears to be worshippers in sleek beige suits and balaclavas. KSI and Oliver Tree can't catch a break with the woman they love, in the offbeat promo for Voices.Directed by Oliver Tree, and infused with his unique&nbsp;brand of oddball&nbsp;comedy, we see both artists try to impress the same girl at a romantic dinner - and&nbsp;failing dismally. She sees them as being just too childish.&nbsp;From there, we see a cycle of absurdist vignettes, with big hair, streams of CGI tears and a mini-meltdown at a restaurant.&nbsp;From the unique aesthetic through to the top-notch styling and visual effects, the video is a&nbsp;tour de force&nbsp;of creativity. Will no doubt make some waves come award season.&nbsp;

Hector Dockrill directs a heartwrenching promo for new Lewis Capaldi track Pointless.&nbsp;The narrative for the video captures a mother-son relationship with beautiful and heart-breaking intimacy. Spanning a couple of decades, the concept follows a&nbsp;single mother who strives against all odds to give her son the life she never had, and is packed with an emotional punch.&nbsp;With a wonderful performance&nbsp;from&nbsp;BAFTA winner Niamh Algar (The Virtues, Raised by Wolves)&nbsp;and three actors playing the son at different stages of his life - including Charley Palmer-Rothwell as her grown-up son -&nbsp;the video reinterprets the song's lyrics to explore a different type of relationship, and it works perfectly.[imgtoken data:1]The naturalistic cinematography and relatable themes help make the video feel incredibly realistic and universal, and it will no doubt have viewers thinking about their own loved ones as we enter the festive period.&nbsp;With mixed dialogue throughout, we both hear and see glimpses into the ups and downs of their daily lives over the years including financial hardship and the tightrope of being a working single parent. And in keeping with the theme of family, Laura Dockrill – Hector’s sister - wrote the script, making this a family affair both on and off screen.“Lewis had a beautiful idea that focused on the mother/son bond, and how responsibility shifts as you grow older," says Hector Dockrill. "Niamh Algar is a phenomenal talent and we’re already chomping at the bit to work together again. With only a week’s prep, she managed to immerse herself into the role and completely make it her own. This is definitely a special film that everybody can connect with – a shout out to every mother.”

KSI takes on himself in an explosive boxing match, in Troy Roscoe's slick and entertaining VFX-fired&nbsp;promo for Not Over Yet,&nbsp;featuring Tom Grennan.&nbsp;The first half of the video explores the preparation for the match, presenting slick vignettes where giant hailstones fall from the sky, and KSI plunges into a futuristic looking ice bath, training underwater - referencing an iconic photo of Muhammed Ali.&nbsp;When things get going inside the ring, things take a huge step up, boasting a true feat of careful pre-production and VFX based around a motion control shoot. So it's not so surprising that this is No.1 on YouTube's UK Music Video chart right now.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;"(This is) most definitely one of my most favourite shoots and videos to date!" says Troy Roscoe.&nbsp;"So much went into this. From pre-production to final delivery it was a meticulous process, as there were so many things that could go wrong.&nbsp;I knew we had our work cut out.&nbsp;"Usually you find yourself in a position where people have experience in how to pull these things off. But none of us had seen anything like it, as it’s very hard to make a clone come into contact with one another through VFX. Usually you would use deep fakes, but we went for an organic approach so that it looks as real as possible. And it’s safe to say we pulled it off![imgtoken data:2]"The concept is beautiful, as the root of it is something everybody can relate to, focussed on the fact that the only competition you actually have is [with] yourself. Raja Virdi explores the thin line between good and bad for the big&nbsp;team-up of Marshmello, Mae Muller and Trippie Redd.&nbsp;The video for American Psycho takes place in a series of stylish custom-built sets, with a red and white colour scheme which represents the dichotomy of a toxic relationship.&nbsp;Muller and Redd thrive in their unique setups, and Virdi's use of dynamic transitions, animated elements and rhythmic editing keeps the video constantly engaging.[imgtoken data:1]"It was such a pleasure to direct this promo," says Virdi. "I'd been wanting to do a concept like this for a while and glad it fit the song so well. I love the themes of duality, and seeing the difference performance states of Mae between the red toxic sets and the white angelic sets."I really wanted to move the camera seamlessly between the spaces, keeping the visual constantly engaging with how we reveal new moments."Collaborating with my regular DOP Pieter Snyman and the insanely talented production designer Sarah Asmail&nbsp;ensured we found the rhythm for the piece and how best to give each space a unique feel for each artist on the song.[imgtoken data:2]"The turnaround was immense for this one with needing to shoot and deliver all within a week. But thanks to an insanely talented crew, we just about got there&nbsp;- albeit with little to no sleep, lol. The New Hope Club boys experience four seasons in one day, in Troy Roscoe's feel-good promo for Getting Better.&nbsp;Walking around a residential block, we see the group take the elements in their stride, as they joyously perform in the middle of the street.&nbsp;"This was for sure one of my favourite shoots to date," says Roscoe. "Admittedly, as soon as I decided I wanted New Hope Club to walk through an abundance of weather elements, we had our work cut out. There was so much room for error, as instead of going for visual effects, we opted for real physical weather simulations."&nbsp;&nbsp;"The boys made this an absolute breeze - pardon the pun - as their raw talent, charisma and charm brought the visual to life and made it a pleasure to work with them. I think telling an artist you want them to walk through real rain, wind and snow is always a difficult conversation, but the boys were down for anything in order to achieve the epic video that we did."&nbsp;The playful concept is executed perfectly, and makes for a unique and refreshing visual. Now someone go get the group (and crew)&nbsp;a hot cup of tea!&nbsp;

Harry Law pays homage to classic performance videos in his promo for 5 Seconds Of Summer.&nbsp;Drawing inspiration from pop rock videos of the 90’s and&nbsp;early 00’s&nbsp;- from artists such as Oasis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The All-American Rejects -&nbsp;the video for Me, Myself &amp; I takes place in a dimly lit warehouse, with a motion control camera seamlessly cutting around the different personalities of each band member.&nbsp;The video forms a part of the Australian pop outfit's new vision, which is being conceptualised with a number of other creatives across the board, including creative director Tyler Serebreni.[imgtoken data:1]“Me Myself &amp; I&nbsp;has such an iconic energy to it, getting to capture that feeling visually while the band was on a global world tour was so incredible, it gave us so much to play with," says&nbsp;Serebreni.&nbsp;"We wanted to put a twist on a performance video, focusing on technology while keeping the aesthetic and inspiration of so many iconic early 2000s performance videos, but still grounded and in line with our album campaign."Harry [Law] helped us bring this vision to life perfectly, complex in its simplicity, highlighting the individuality and style of the guys."
